Meiji Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Oxford

If i could give my experience no stars i would! We were treated rudely and very disrespectfully. My sister and I stopped for a few drinks right away we’re treated as an inconvenience. No it wasn’t close to the time the bar closes. However seemed as though the male bartender didn’t want to work. My sister forgot her id she drove home got it .. I stayed.. I had my ID.. Showed him my ID.... He attempted to refuse to serve me because my sister didn’t have her ID may I mind you she had left to go get it at this point.... So it was just me .. He attempted to give me water. When he finally agreed to give me my drink i ordered it was by far the worst mai tai i have ever had! (bartender here) It was tragic! barely drank it when my sister returned with her Id and her friend.(who didn’t order a drink) she gave him her Id and he demanded to see her friends ... who gave jt willingly as well.. Again refused to be served ... At his point i asked fo the manager spoke with a male manager who just wanted to defend and defend his employee... No sorry no nothing i paid for my terrible drink.. manager looked at he cameras and saw that what i was telling him aligned with the video still no apology Needless to say This will no longer be a stop for me every time i return home! So disappointed in our most recent experience here. The current female manager told our server to ask us to leave because our kids were being "too loud." Everybody in the dining room was shocked when they heard what was going on, because the kids were sitting quietly enjoying their food not bothering anyone. This female manager claimed to be the owner and told us "there's a place for people like you and it isn't here." We happen to know the owner as we've been customers since they opened. We told her we know she's not the owner and she snapped with "I'm calling the cops on you." I left crying holding both of my kids in my arms. My oldest was crying in the parking lot saying he's hungry so I poked back in to see if I can grab out to go food and rhe hostess snapped at me saying I slammed their slow close door that is literally impossible to slam, especially with a kid in each arm. I'm guessing the Manger and hostess aren't kid friendly people?? Maybe they're not cut out to work at a restaurant that wants to be family friendly or maybe this place just isn't family friendly anymore?? Either way after countless anniversary celebrations, birthdays meals, dinner and lunches with friends and family here we will NOT be...

Food allergies beware!!!!!! We placed a large sushi to go order. One person in our group could not have anything with mayo. We ordered that person a tuna roll and Spider Maki. The menu states spider maki “ Soft-shell crab tempura, avocado, cucumber and topped with tobiko”. We live 20 min away. We got home and called the restaurant to tell them we did not receive the spider maki. They argued with us and told us we did. There were zero rolls on our tray that had cucumber and most rolls had mayo. They told us it was our fault that we didn’t tell them we didn’t want mayo on our spiked maki roll and we told them the description made no mention of mayo. We wanted a refund but they insisted we had to bring our tray back to them in order to get a refund of $10. Our total bill was $160 but yet they insisted it was our fault as they “add mayo” to a lot of their rolls even though the menu doesn’t state. RED FLAG. We have ordered many times from here and the owner continued to yell at us on the phone it was our fault we didn’t tell them we didn’t wanted mayo.
