We went on Friday afternoon for my sons 18th birthday. I ordered the shrimp plate , my husband the CATFISH plate , and the kids shared a boil . As soon as the guy ( not our waiter ) puts my plate down I notice a hair on one of the shrimps I tell him right away before he even leaves the table that there is a hair on the shrimp , he looked annoyed and took the plate away ( no apology or anything ) . I guess next time I’ll just eat the hair 😂 .Our waitress was awful , came to the table twice and that’s it . So before my husband pays she reads back what we ordered she said catfish plate and just read the rest of the order and read it back to us as we ordered and my husband swipes his card . I told him something didn’t seem right about the price so I ask her for the receipt . I had to flag her down for it twice and it took forever to get the receipt . When we finally got the receipt we noticed she added the red snapper plate instead of the catfish plate which is like 13 dollars higher.I tell her about her mistake and she first tries to say it’s the same thing .It’s not what he ordered so I ask her to please price adjust it. She admits it’s her mistake that she put in the order wrong , I guess that’s why it took her forever to bring the receipt to hide her mistake . She said since my husband ate what she ordered incorrectly they were not going to price adjust it and her manager wouldn’t approve . I started to get really annoyed with her response because she admitted fault .We go back and forth for a bit then she decides that although it was her mistake it was my husbands fault for eating it 😂 both were fried fish he had no idea what he ate, he thought he was eating what he ordered .My advice is ask for receipt , DO NOT PAY until you see the receipt even if they read the order back correctly . The boils are good though so...
Read moreI've been here numerous times the service is always is absolutely terrible. But I went last night with family and it was by far the worst food and customer service I've ever had. The waitress was so consumed with talking to her co-workers that she couldn't even pay attention to her tables. We had to flag her down anytime we needed refills. When the food finally arrived my order was completely wrong. I've ordered this particular item numerous times and never had any issues. The order had none of their special butter sauce on it only an overly thick amount of seasoning (picture below). When I couldn't find my waitress because she was too busy talking to her co-workers I asked another employee for help. She said it was supposed to look like that and offered to bring garlic butter sauce. When it arrived it was thick and not even melted so I couldn't even it pour over my food. I had to peel every shrimp and scoop the butter and there and mix it together with my hands. We waited about 10 mins without the waitress ever coming over to check on us after getting our food. When the food did come out it was only in two bowls instead of four meaning we had to share with each other which we purposely didn't want to do. My grandma and daughters ordered mild since they can't handle very spicy food. Their food was so spicy it made my grandma sick. The manager was well aware of the issues we were having and never once came over to apologize or offer help. The waitress and the entire staff were entirely unprofessional instead of helping their tables and the customers they were busy in the kitchen and at the register talking.By the time that I left every table in my area needed refills, to go boxes, and their tickets and their waitresses were nowhere to be found. I would never recommend this...
Read moreThe 1 star is for the eclectic mermaid murals and old school nautical artifacts...Both myself and my dining companion felt a bit ill after eating here.. we went to this little spot because they were supposed to have raw oysters...THANK GOODNESS they didn't have them.. or at least I think they didn't, our server couldn't understand our English that well.. we probably would have gotten really sick by comparison... grant it.. it could have just been an "off" day for the kitchen, but the food just wasn't that great. We always get calamari when it's on the menu, it was ok, cold, and obviously frozen, but run-of-the-mill ok... but it went down hill fast from there...the gumbo had a tomato paste base taste, that could be a local thing, idk..I'm used to a rue..the margarita tasted of old sweet and sour mix..no flavor, little tequila..we ordered a grilled fish with a side of rice and a salad... and that is literally what we got.. plain white rice on the side of a pitiful portion of underseasoned, over cooked fish.. the "ponchatrain" sauce was the dishes only saving grace... We also tried the blackened shrimp alfredo... at least I got full... of pasta.... over cooked shrimp, average alfredo.. served with no sides.. I think they heard me complain about wishing I had a piece of bread or something..the server brought out a basket of barely toasted bread. When a place boasts about fresh seafood..I just expects much more... maybe the fried dishes are the way to go..so you can taste more batter than seafood...Way too pricey for the quality and quantity of food. Still thanking my lucky stars they were out...
