We stopped here just passing through on our way back to Georgia from our beach vacation. The reviews looked great, so we gave it a shot.
The place is very kid friendly, fast & friendly service, and had a welcoming atmosphere. My husband got the burger (regular with cheese since the Lumberjack was not on special), I got the smoked meatloaf, my daughter got the kids chicken tenders, and my mom got the special of the day--fried chicken.
The smoked meatloaf was overdone on the exterior. The center had a nice flavor, though. The exterior was so tough that I couldn't cut it with the side of my fork or butter knife. The mashed potatoes were basic run of the mill instant potatoes. The baked beans, however, were fantastic!!! They had great flavor and the addition of pulled pork in the beans made for a very tasty side dish.
The burger was just alright. Nothing to really write home about, in my opinion (I just tried a bite of my husband's, he also agrees with me). The fries were tasty.
The kids chicken tenders were great. The chicken was moist and juicy and the batter used had great flavor. The cookie was a nice tough, but I wish they would bring it out after the meal because it was a fight to get my 2 year old to take a bite of her food after she saw the cookie.
The special today was fried chicken, which is what my mom got. She said the inside of the bone-in chicken was delicious, very moist and tender. The outside was again a little overcooked. She also got fried okra and fries, which were good.
Overall, our experience was just ok. It satasified our hunger, but nothing I'd go out of my way...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing experience at Jen's Grill! We were just passing through town on a Sunday and decided to stop here — and what a fantastic surprise! The place was packed when we arrived, which gave us high expectations, and they were absolutely met.
I ordered the grilled pork chops with mac and cheese and french fries as my two sides, and chose the roll as my bread. The seasoning on the pork chops was incredible, the mac and cheese was honestly the best I’ve ever had, and even the fries had an exceptional flavor. The portions are very generous — I couldn’t finish everything, even though it was so delicious.
Our server, I think her name's Ally, was super kind and patient, explaining all the menu options to us (we’re visiting from Brazil). The service was fast and friendly. It’s a family-owned place — one of the owners was there, actively helping with the service.
The restaurant is clean, beautifully decorated, and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. There’s even a little store attached with jams, t-shirts, home decor, and other fun items.
I highly recommend Jen’s Grill to anyone in the area — it’s a must-stop spot! (Photo of the Sunday...
Read moreThis experience is nothing similar to what I have experienced prior at Jimmy’s Grill. I went in on a Sunday and they have a special menu, which is fine. I know they don’t want to offer everything. There were no prices on the menu so I asked the waitress what the prices are, and she responded with “the usual prices”. I told her that it has been awhile since last eating here. She was very hesitant to give me the prices and finally let us look at the regular menu just to see prices. I’m not sure if she didn’t know the prices herself or just didn’t want to tell me. I ordered a sweet tea because it was a hot day and drank the tea quickly, it sat there for about 15 minutes empty and the waitress didn’t even walk by. I finally asked the manager and he got me a refill and gave us a free price of cake on the way out which was great. After that the manager must’ve said something to the waitress because she came out of hiding and walked around a little. The food was okay at best and nothing like Jimmy’s used to be. The store also had a lot of empty shelves and clearance items. If you expect the same as Jimmy’s...
