Saw a few posts on FB referring to issues this café was having with racism/gay bashing and I'm sorry that's happening to them- that sucks and it's so unnecessary. You know what else is unnecessary? A nasty, snarky attitude. I've been here 5 times. My first experience was great but the last 4 were awful. The dude that works in the morning (the one with the gages) is terribly rude. Seems pissed that he has to leave his laptop for 5 minutes to make your drink. I had a few drinks to juggle, and there was NOT ONE other customer in the place but he couldn't get up for 30 seconds to help with the door. Is that required? No. Is it polite? Yes. I'm sure your Mom taught you better. Before you cry over how people are treating you, try being nice. You don't have to bend over backwards, you don't have to go totally out of your way but you DO have to act like a decent human to retain business and grow. If you want to make a difference in the community, make money and be treated with respect and dignity- Treat your customers the way you want to be treated. Don't stereotype yourself as "sassy"- it's not cute and it will eventually sink your business (but that will be "everybody else's" fault, right?!) Funny thing- A brand spanking new coffee spot just opened up right down the street from my house. Guess who will NEVER go out of their way to get coffee at Black Cow... Anyway- You need more (and better) quality baked goods AND you need to hire someone to work mornings- Gage Dude needs to stay in bed. It's not hard to be nice- give it a try- your customers are paying your...
Read moreI was excited to try this coffee shop after hearing about it from friends. My daughter and I saw their flyer for line dancing last week and we had been excited to go. We walked in at about 4:30pm, line dancing started at 5:00pm. We easily found seats for the 4 of us who went. It was warm in the coffee shop but they were setting up a fan to help circulate the air as we walked in. We looked over the menu, (we were bummed they didn’t offer an iced chai) we ended up ordering a 12 ounce mocha frappe. My daughter and I split it to try it out and found it tasty but 5.50 for their smallest size was pricey. The man who took our order was patient and kind. We enjoyed our coffee treat and when it was time for the line dancing, my teen daughter went up to say hi and introduce herself. Immediately the instructor was rude and spoke to her in a bothered/annoyed tone stating only 18 and up could join. She told my daughter she was “not welcome to join.” This made my daughter upset and I was not happy with how the instructor had spoken to my daughter. The advertisements for this event do not state any sort of age restriction, and if they had forgotten to add it the instructor could have been kind when speaking. For a place that has been said to welcome all people, we no longer felt welcome, returned our glass mason jar that our drink was in and...
Read moreIf you are seeking a new opportunity for coffee that tantalizes the tastebuds infused with an atmosphere that soothes the soul while you sit back and sip on their signature coffee creations or something that calls to you, the Black Cow is one of those places if you are in the Pahrump area. If that wasn't enough, a lineup of quality music is offered and on the weekends live music from various artists near and not so far away. I honestly have only been there once so far, but it has my vote for a place for the artist mindset and other people who value a calm place to create and discover their calling in life one sip at a time. This is another place that values an amazing customer service experience with a variety of different flavors. I only had one complaint and it was that I didn't learn about this pourhouse sooner! I believe that the seating area probably makes a visually good location for filming a movie as it made me want to sit and think about how this place could be utilized in a future production for a movie or music video. Try it out for yourself and share the details. Oh, I forgot to mention.. the hours.. Early Morning.. Or late evening (until 9pm) .. Its a...
