Went to Jelly cafe on a Saturday morning. Waiting staff were very polite and friendly, restaurant was clean and nicely furnished so full marks there, but what really let them down was their coffee. If it were a regular restaurant, one shouldn’t expect too much of the coffee, but if it’s a brunch joint, it really should be something you put extra effort into. I asked for a flat white, and granted, it isn’t a particular common coffee in this part of the world, I was able to explain that it’s basically like a double shot latte with less froth. I appreciate this must have been out of their wheelhouse, but what was produced was clearly burned coffee, the flavour one would expect when coffee is reused or the grounds are not properly cleaned in between each cup. Given how bitter this was, I asked for a bit of milk, which was promptly provided in a small cup. When the bill came around, I was charged for both a latte and an espresso (extra $3h, as opposed to the advertised extra shot price of $1 dollar). Upon pointing this out, and initially being told that was how the manager had ordered it be charged, the waitress came back with a new bill with the correct amount. No issues with the wait staff here, they were fantastic, but looks like the manager was trying to pull a bit of a swifty. Oh, and they charged an extra $2.50 for a small cup of milk . I didn’t haggle over that one, but was a bit surprised, as extra milk is usually provided free at other cafes I’ve been to thus far. The food was decent, but certainly not worth the price. My advice, food is alright, but avoid...
Read moreThis restaurant is amazing! Their place is a gem! Their food here is really fantastic. It was my first time visiting this Jelly Café and trying their food. Their breakfast selection is so huge as well as for the brunch selection. I really love the taste of their waffles, coffee, and sandwiches. I can really tell that everything on their menu is perfectly prepared and freshly cooked. Their food hits really different and the aroma of all their food is incredible. They are way better than other restaurants around the place. Everything you can find here is really delicious and worth a try. Their food is affordable and reasonably priced. You can try anything you want without breaking your pockets. You can eat some awesome meals at such a fair price. What a great spot. This place is really nice, full of décor, organized, clean, and neat. They have a great atmosphere. You will absolutely feel relaxed and welcome at this place. They are so easy to find, they are also near to other well-known places around the area, and their location is accessible. Jelly Café is really a perfect spot for breakfast and brunch. You all must visit and stop in at this place. Jelly Café never disappoints. Will definitely go back here again soon. Thank you for amazing service guys! Kudos to all of you! Thank...
Read moreI don't review places much, but I'm trying new things. Chick at the counter had bad ENERGY! I've gone before and the vibe was lovely but the cashier for takeout today was obviously perturbed that someone interrupted her boring existence and made no effort to hide it. She sarcastically mumbled, "Great" after asking my name, then turns around, lifts a hand UP before slammming the pen down so aggressively with my card and receipt that the few people who were there glanced up. I leaned back in awe as she flatly said, "Enjoy" with her back already turned to me. I watched her leave and started to approach the coworker sitting nearby to ask if she was always like that but bit my tongue until I left and ate. It still didn't sit right with me. People should be conscious of how they present themselves in a place of business.
Ma'am. I didn't wake up with you this morning so you cannot expect me to know your deal. Not a shred of a smile or friendliness given back to me. Just wanted her to know the food was great and I love myself. She should try it sometime. See ya next...
