First and foremost I’ll start with the positive experiences! The restaurant is very nice. Has beautiful decor, and the staff were very polite. Food was tasty.
Now let’s get into more tedious issues we discovered throughout the night. I want to start off with a big one, I asked for no tomatoes on my salad which was reflected on the receipt at the end of the night but nonetheless, my salad had tomatoes. I consider this somewhat of a big issue because of allergies! Thankfully, I don’t have an allergy to tomatoes, I simply don’t like them so I just scooped them out of the way and continued on -- I didn’t even mention it to my server. However, if I did that could’ve been detrimental to my health. So if you are someone who has allergies and request for a customization, just be sure you’re good to go before you start eating!
Secondly, Upcharges that aren’t mentioned. My husband order a black mambarita and was told they were out of blackberries so they couldn’t make the drink. No biggie, he ordered a mezcal drink (forgot the name) and the server asked if he wanted to add pineapple or jalapeño flavoring to it. He said sure and went for the jalapeño. This was an additional $4. On top of the already $18 drink. No big deal IF it’s mentioned as an upcharge from the beginning. “Would you like to add pineapple or jalapeño flavoring to that drink? It’d be an additional $4 if that’s okay!” Simple as that. (Also my husband said it didn’t even taste like jalapeño lol.) I have worked in the service industry so that’s how I was trained to approach Upcharges but I’m unsure if that’s how they’re wanting to approach it. This just makes it to where no one feels surprised at the end of the night when the check comes.
Lastly, we had a friend join us a little later in the night and she asked for a water which was never brought to her. She ended up sharing with me.
Now please, don’t get me wrong! The food was good, I didn’t have a drink I had a glass of wine but the people I was with said their cocktails were good. These are little things but they did make a difference in our experience during the soft-opening phase of...
Read moreWent last night for the first time, the drinks were pricey and didn’t even fill the martini glass. They used cheap liquor. For 24 to 26 dollars a drink, at least give me mid-shelf level. Our friend got the Paper Plane Cocktail which was 24 dollars. They roll out and made the drink for him table-side, which was a cool addition, but they pour Evan Williams bourbon. The whole drink was at best a 2oz cocktail. That 24 dollars probably paid for another 3 bottles of Evan Williams.
The vibe was too many things, just pick a lane. It was a sorta sports bar with a steak at 60 dollars a plate with 13 TVs in one room. Also what 60 dollar steak doesn’t come with the grade or sourcing info???. The burgers were 18 or so dollars and no fries or chips. Pretty disappointed. I understand the idea of having a place in the AV with DTLA vibes, we need it. But this missed the mark completely.
I ordered the California steak sandwich and it was ground beef, super dry and the bread was stale. My boyfriend’s burger was okay but it was cheap meat.
Then walking out the owners Lamborghini is sitting out front and the security guard asks me and my friend if we want a picture with it. The whole thing felt like a money grab for the owner.
Had potential but missing the...
Read moreTonight we went here for dinner! And let me tell you the first impression walking into this experience was beautiful. The vibe of the restaurant was perfect. Has a little taste of the AV and kept the sports vibe as the old coaches. It’s definitely a nicer restaurant. I do have to say on the other side of things the food does need more flavor with the price of the food. I ordered a filet mignon medium and it came medium rare which I still ate it but there was no seasoning on the steak and with the steak I ordered the garlic mashed potatoes, there was not garlic in the mashed potatoes no flavor to them at all. I did not drink but the people I was with liked their drinks and the server was super nice! I do like how friendly everyone was and I love how cute and the ambiance was perfection! I will definitely be going back and looking forward to it! I am super excited to see this place thrive since there is nothing like...
