El Nopal Mexican Restaurant 4 — Restaurant in Palmyra

The El Nopal Mexican Restaurant in Palmyra, Missouri has good food and relatively decent service. However, this rating is lower than it could have been due to the lack of staff on a Saturday in the late afternoon. It was 4p and there appeared to be only one employee seating folks. The gentleman did not make eye contact, nor speak, he just tossed three menus on the table and walked away. I can understand being busy and short staffed however if this is the type of interaction they feel is adequate, or lack thereof, this will not keep the guests coming for the good food. I don't intend to be back until I hear service...

I have alpha gal syndrome and cannot have any beef or pork or dairy and the waiter promised they would cook my chicken separately from all of that and I would have none. However, when I got my food there was pork in it and the mango didn’t take it seriously at all. Said it is one small piece yet there was several small pieces and it only takes one for me to have a severe reaction that could cause anaphylactic shock. This is not ok. The food was good and the waiter was nice, but he got two of the orders wrong and we did not say anything. When paying the bill I had the cashier go over the ticket since it was an adding machine tape. Everything was fine and i payed the bill. While paying he asked where I was from, if there were mexican restraunts there and if they were good. I was polite the whole time but I got the impression he was implying I should eat in my home town and not here. Maybe I am wrong but I dont feel comfortable going...
