Excellent dinner. Their meats were great, with a special shout out to the pitmaster for the Smoked Turkey. Turkey is hard to make macro for the daily menu. It rarely turns out as good as you do it at home, but their's has great smokey flavor, is tender, and has a consistancy of a top-shelf deli meat. It's clearly smoked and processed in house, and attests to how genuine this place is. Wifey had it as her main, and I had it on my Club. Was able to sample their brisket in their soup-of-the-day (Beef Stew) and it was excellent as well. All other sides were great, and seemed to be made fresh that day. And it's the little things that impress me sometimes--like offerings of delicous pickled vegs, and whipped honey butter with the cornbread. Good home town folks running the joint, and it was busy early on a Sat night. You'll pay a premium for this barbecue, and we had no problem doing so. We would again...

Some of the best BBQ I've had. From the brisket to the pulled pork... this is the place. Excellent ice tea as well. Worth a drive! Update: Was out riding with a friend and stopped in for lunch. I had their burnt butt ends sandwich, served with jalapeño cheese (Mmmmm....), and a side of cole slaw. It's a special on the menu and isn't offered all the time... but ohhhh sooo good! Update: I brought my wife and daughters down for lunch on our way to WSU campus. Needless to say, but can't pass up the opportunity, it was awesome! Will never pass up the chance to visit the Palouse Caboose! Update: I tried the Roughneck, a brisket sandwich with pickles, fried onions and horseradish. I substituted Rye bread for the bun... and it was delicious! You really need to come here!

We took my Aunt and my grandparents today and sat on the patio and had lunch and it was such an amazing day! The weather was nice, the view of downtown was gorgeous, and the food was to die for!! We came on my birthday last year and it was amazing then too!! My family LOVED everything about it, down to the homemade iced tea! My husband and I did miss the garlic fries they used to have but the onion rings made up for it!! There was also a motorcycle gang that came for lunch and they got packed fast and the staff handled it seamlessly it was very impressive! Highly recommend

Love this place. The food is great. The price is reasonable, and the servings were so generous. I love their hobo nachos and loaded fries. The service was outstanding. The atmosphere and energy are fantastic! I love that we could sit outside, so our furbabies don't have to stay in the vehicle during the hot summer season. Even our furbabies' experience was great! The hostess gave our furbabies fresh water, which was so sweet. Every staff member was friendly and attentive. If I were local, this would be our place to go at all times.

8/24/23:

Came back for the last time. It was a great experience yet again, so I still give Palouse Caboose a 5 star. Our server was great, the food was fantastic and my friends and I were so happy. The only thing that disappointed me was when I was at the bar ready to order. I was 2nd in line. Then the other bar tender in black shirt, dark hair, tall, lean with pretty tattoos on her arm looked past me, and helped the gentleman behind me instead. That was really disappointing. I will not say anything negative about the bar tender. I will leave it at that. Let my...

THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD!!!!

THEY WERE NOT BUSY AT ALL AND HAD HORRIBLE SERVICE.

Went here for date night and for a St. Patricks day drink and meal. The service was horrendous. We were seated and then waited 5 or more minutes just to get a menu. Once we got a menu the server came up, didn't say a word, pulled out a notepad and just stared as us blankly. We ordered some drinks and also ordered a burger and the special of the day corn beef and cabbage. Our drinks came after about 10 minutes later. When our food arrived it was the driest, under seasoned burger i've ever had. The corn beef which was $12 was also suffering from the same attributes. 4 tiny pieces of dry corn beef, laying in a 1/4" of grease at the bottom of the plate paired with mushy cabbage and accompanied by 1 1/2 small red potatoes cut in half. After trying to eat our meal I asked for the check which took another 10 minutes to be brought to us. A Pabst Blue Ribbon and well bloody mary together was $10. WORST MEAL EVER. If it was possible to give a half or no star I would. Will never be going back....

My dining experience left a lot to be desired. The service was very slow, including getting our beverages- I had ordered an iced tea, and by the time it got to my table- I had totally forgotten I even ordered it. Our Bloody Mary's came out with out salt on them- which was a real let down, since we specifically asked for salted rims. When we asked the waitress about it, she told us that it would take her a VERY long time, and that we would "have to wait even longer." I ordered the Tomato Bisque, and a Grilled Cheese with cheddar. The Grilled Cheese was toasted bread with a slice of american cheese (which, as a cheese lover was a real disappointment). The Bisque LITERALLY looked and tasted like marinara sauce. I want to believe that it was just a terrible day for the cook, because of other reviews, but my god. I would make sure before ordering this again, that I will actually get what I ordered and not a terribly sad excuse for one of America's most...
