One of our party had a medical exemption, so she didn't wear a mask and since most places have relaxed on masks, my son also did not wear a mask. The four other in our party did wear a mask. It was late afternoon so only one or two tables had customers. We walked in and a waitress seated us but then a manager turned around and noticed that my wife and son were not wearing masks. He said you have to wear masks when coming in and leaving. We mentioned that my wife had a medical exemption. He seemed a good bit upset and repeated a couple of times that we had to wear masks. But did not say what we needed to do once we were already in the restaurant and one had a medical exemption. A waitress served water and then the manager came back out in a bit of an agitated manner and repeated a couple of more times that we had to wear masks in and out of the restaurant. He seemed upset that we were there but gave no indication of what he wanted us to do. At some point, one of the other much younger waitresses came by and offered a couple of other masks for the two of our party who did not have masks. I thought that would resolve the issue but a fellow dining across from us started giving us grief; first he said something about "why are you laughing" and he was very upset. I guess because I had an embarrassed smile on my face, that was offensive to him. Then he said if you're not going to wear masks, then you should order out. I said that one person had a medical exemption but that did not satisfy him. It was an extremely hostile environment, so we got up and left. We will never be back. My sympathy to the teenagers working there who were kind...
Read moreOne of my favorite BBQ restaurants until today. I walked in the door and was immediately told in a much louder and terse voice than was necessary that I needed a mask. My wife and I had ridden down from up towards the airport for lunch. I was taken aback and we decided to leave since we went to Miami county for lunch as it was our understanding they they decided to not follow the governors mask order. I went back in to get clarification and was again greeted by what seemed like an angry person, evidently the owner, who said "you have to have a mask on to come in my restaurant". I tried to ask a question and got another loud, "you have to have a mask on to come in my restaurant". I said I had a question and asked if that that was their restaurant policy or the local government. But was again greeted with the same loud and angry sounding reply of "you have to have a mask on to come in my restaurant". So we decided to eat elsewhere.
I am a firm believer that a business owner has the right to do whatever they want with their establishment. But yelling and getting angry at a customer, who has been there many times before, just for asking a clarifying question is over the line. There are many excellent BBQ places that will be getting my business instead from now on, but not this one. Which is too bad as they have great food and it is a nice destination ride for my wife and I and many of my...
Read moreI don’t think I’ll be coming here again. I used to love eating here, but the mood In the staff changed and I feel the food has gone down. The staff was not so friendly nor was my waitress who was grouchy. Not even a hi how are you? Just “what you want”? In the rudest tone. I get it we are all going through hard times rn especially with the pandemic but I just don’t think it’s right to treat customers like this. I definitely think they need to change in attitude, it’s not fun when you walk in restaurant and you feel extremely unwelcome. On another note I got biscuits and gravy which is my favorite and I order it whenever I can. This one just isn’t my favorite, wasn’t too good. Also not to mention everyone in my party is sick to their stomach. Overall I’m really disappointed with the staff.
Update : yes me and my whole party abided by the rules of wearing a mask. Even tho I might disagree with it I’m not gonna disrespect others. . I’m just being honest about your biscuits and gravy, everyone likes them different ways and I personally just didn’t enjoy the way your gravy tasted. Also on behalf of the rude service, this isn’t the first time this has happened. Plus you are all know for being very unfriendly anyway. Btw it doesn’t help when you respond to your reviews with even...
