Hope they’re doing a lot better now that they’ve been open for a while. In order for a restaurant to succeed it’s necessary for them to improve. Went there a while back when they opened with my family. It wasn’t busy and we were tended to immediately the service was great. The delivery however was not. I had ordered the huachil shrimp, but what had come back was a plate with very little shrimp scattered under a blanket of shredded lettuce and a green chili that had no flavor. In other words, they had interpreted it as a salad. One member of my family had ordered the ceviche and they received a small plate of ceviche that had no flavor and no tostadas. Another member ordered a shrimp cocktail that had a very small amount of shrimp that was microwaved with a sauce that had no flavor. Some people at my table had ordered dishes that were served with tortillas. Our kind waitress brought the tortillas way before their food was out so they were cold by the time they got to eat them. The price was not worth it either. In addition to all of this, there was another decent sized table that seemed to have relations to the owners of the restaurant. They ordered after us and got their food first. I guess they have favorites too. As a result I’ve written an essay of my experience here. I hope something is taken from all this I’ve stated. Won’t be going back any time soon....
Read moreThis is one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced. $65 well spent. There was flavor, drinks were strong and food was filling. I love how all the employees work together as a team at every table. Great customer service, they are some of the kindest and friendly staff one could have the pleasure of working with. As an individual with Agoraphobia, I have a very hard time going into places, but I felt very comfortable with the relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are going through Paonia. I also recommend the Cancun Platter (Scallops, real crab, (one other seafood but I can't remember). I normally don't do seafood platters, but this looked so good on the menu and tasted even better. We will be...
Read moreOk. Very surreal experience- in a bad way. When we walked in, we were told to grab our own menus at the front and to seat ourselves in the other dining room. When ordering, I asked to sub a meat out in the dish and was denied. 🤷🏻♂️ had to go with Plan B. During dinner, I asked my son if he liked his taco salad and he said it was ok but it had broccoli in it. I asked for a bite and I noticed my sons “taco salad” was filled with basically vegetable stir fry and topped with sour cream and guacamole. Why? 🤦🏻♂️ Rice and beans were terrific. Salsa had a nice kick.
It seems to change hands every few years and is the only gig in town. We go with our relatives when we come to town every few years and this, by far, has been the...
