Oinky's Barbecue — Restaurant in Paragould

Short summery: Good food and definitely worth trying.

Went here for the first time and I wasn't disappointed.

Very friendly and professional cashier.

Food is made fresh to eat so wait time was a little longer than most places but well worth it.

Catfish is good but definitely not something I would go out of the way to get.

They serve a peppered coleslaw, it took me by surprise at first but I was impressed after a couple bites.

BBQ is really really good. I'm not sure if I remember the name right but the "piggy fries?" Are awesome.

The only thing that bothered me: A few people came in while we were eating and left the entry door slightly open, instead of someone asking the people to close the door behind them a lady came storming out of the kitchen and with the meanest look on her face mumbling a few choice words loud enough the people could hear, shut the door almost slamming it and walked back into the kitchen mumbling. Kinda put a bad vibe into the atmosphere after. We all need to keep in mind that common sense eludes a lot of people and there isn't much we can do about it. Best thing we can do is try to "kid proof" things to minimize it. Maybe put a spring to close the door behind them.

Very interesting little hole in the wall BBQ joint. My kids tell me I knew about it from years ago but 🤷 I dunno.

To sum it up,...

Bbq salad was literally a plate if lettuce with a handful of DRY meat on it. No BBQ sauce, no cheese,no tomato,no anything except plain lettuce in huge chunks and the handful of meat. Absolutely NO FLAVOR and I couldn't even get anyone in the family to 31st it so I could go get myself something else. Everyone who saw it said it was absolutely the saddest looking excuse for a salad they had ever seen. The "menu" outside only says BBQ salad. You just assume that it would come with cheese or something like EVERY other BBQ restaurant. It does not. It is $7.00 for a quarter head of lettuce and about half a cup of meat. Oh, I forgot, you do get two little pks of "Captains Wafers" just in case the salad itself...

Half way threw the meal put my fork in the slaw cup and out came long dark hair in slaw. My guest was bald and I am white haired! Quietly informed waitress about this and showed her, she removed the slaw. She came back after a few minutes and offered me a new cup of slaw. I told her no, we couldn't even finish eating our lunch for the thoughts running threw our heads. She asked if I would like my money back, i said yes.
