My wife and I were in Park Rapids for two days for a family reunion, and this was the first time staying at Vacationaire Resort. The first thing we noticed in our particular room was how thin the curtains were. You could see into our room without much effort, and it made us a little uneasy to the point where we jerry-rigged the comforter from the bed to cover the windows but because of the way the wall A/C is mounted, we...had to be creative so A) we could block out everything from outside but B) not block the fan and the cool air coming into the room.||||The building we stayed in was definitely old, and soundproofing was non-existent, and sleeping on our first night was also non-existent, due to the incredibly noisy occupants next door who decided to come in at 12:30 in the morning, talk really loudly for another hour and then fall asleep with the TV on until about 6am. While I understand Vacationaire is not to blame for that, I had hoped the walls would be a little more thick.||||||The property does have a lot of amenities as far as outdoor activities go, and a great restaurant, and I think that's where Vacationaire really shines. My wife and I enjoyed a beautiful sunset on the lake.||||All in all, however, we were disappointed in our stay and unfortunately will not be back the next time we are...
Read moreWe absolutely love Clancy's. I was born and raised in MN, but the military had taken me away from here for a little over 22 years. I came back and moved to this area as I always loved it. Although having a home here, we still come here and stay. We recommend all our friends and family to do so as well. We love the people, the atmosphere, and the food there is always top-notch. The cabins are always clean, and they are pet friendly. If you need something, ask and you shall receive. They didn't have coffee in the new cabin, and my mother and aunt went up to have some at the restaurant. Nikki (owner) asked about it after they each had a few cups each and wanted to know how much they owe. She refused to allow them to pay, not knowing coffee wasn't replaced in the cabin, and she gave them coffee on the way out. That's just an example of their hospitality. Their kindness goes beyond that of mere coffee. Although I don't live in MN any longer, I do try to come back as often as possible, and when I do, I make it a point to ALWAYS stay for a time at Clancys! You just can't go wrong with good people, good food, good drinks, good service, and a nice comfortable place to lay your head after...
Read moreI went here based on the referral of a local guy I know who said this place had phenomenal prime rib. The day that I went was not the day that they were serving prime rib since that is only a daily special I believe on Fridays or Saturdays. So I decided to settle since we already sat down and didn’t want to find somewhere else to eat. I got some kind of chicken sandwich, and what was supposed to be bruschetta, but it was just Texas toast with fricking pico de gallo on it. What the crap kind of sad excuse is that for bruschetta??? Your description of bruschetta even very clearly says “olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette topped with mozzarella cheese Italian seasonings served on Italian bread”. It pissed me off so badly when that got delivered to the table, that I almost wanted to walk out then and there. Not only that but my drink was incredibly bland and out of syrup.
In the end, all of the food was pretty mediocre, way insanely ungodly, disgustingly, overpriced, and the service was completely average or below average. I won’t be stopping in here again, and I’m going to chew the person out who recommended to go...
