Well kick up your heels, 4 wheel it out on the old dirt road and have a good old time. 4.7 miles out on a rough road is this oasis of fun... open limited days, and limited hours, and the trail is dusty and might be crowded.
Full bar, limited beer selection... there ain't nothin' "micro" about the Desert Bar... Bud, Bud lite, Coors, Coors lite... maybe Miller. But it's ice cold and goes down easy after your ride on the trail, pardner.
Leave your mom van and Ford Fiesta at home... oh, they might make it, but NOBODY will respect you for it. ORV and 4WD trucks are the best way to go. Big enough parking lot to hold em all, once ya git through the gap.
Lot's of seating in the outdoor area, big stage with foot stomping live music. Several seating areas near the band, AND away from the band... should you desire to sip your Tequila and just contemplate the rugged beauty of the area.
Food on the lower level... tasty bar food at it's best... rings, garlic fries, burgers, corndogs, hell, they've got enough to satisfy just about any grub needs. I even saw a vegetarian item of some sort.
You can eat below, or go back up and enjoy the rest.
Yes, they have real restrooms ladies... you don't have to hide behind rocks... ('lest ya wanna).
Indoor saloon too... with a long bar.
Place is built of welded iron beams and loads of concrete, so's I expect it's gonna be thar awhile.
BRING CASH, and turn off your phone... there's no cell service out there, and your...
Read moreThis Bar is a definite go to at least once! We've wanted to go for a while, but since only open weekends October to April, it hadn't worked out til this week. What a blast. The 4ish mile dirt road to get there off the highway is an adventure, thankful we have a jeep.
This Bar is off the grid, NO CELL SERVICE, so you won't be checking in on Facebook til later. lol. There are two restaurants both called Niko's. One is BBQ and the other Greek. Tried and highly recommend the BBQ, too full to try the other.
The bars are full service, if you drink beer. Mixed drinks are mediocre and wine is out of a box. No wait-staff so go get what you want, when you want it. Then be sure to ♻️ appropriately in one of their many bins!
Ample parking since in the middle of nowhere, aka the desert! Also very dog friendly which was a huge plus since we had our pug with us.
They have live music and people were dancing, having a blast! They can accommodate a couple hundred guests. They also have a store to buy shirts to remember your visit!
Seriously, GO! Super glad we went and we will be back...
Read moreWhoot! What a unique and totally unexpected experience. Was expecting a wood hut with a couple of Coleman coolers full of ice and beer...Boy was I WRONG! The parking is a little cramped, but the experience of this place makes worth hunting down a spot worthwhile. On the day we were there a live band was playing - all the classic rock hits - and not doing a bad job. My wife and I elected the cheap hamburger and chili dog at the upper restaurant for expediency...which were decent for the price. Our friends ordered a 'gourmet burger' downstairs... which looked great - but did seem a little expensive. Beer was cheap, seating good and flexible. The area is cool with various old machinery, cars, and an metal steeple/sculpture that begs a photo op. Getting there is a little rough off the highway near Parker, but many people come across the desert in side-by-sides...which I was told is a long and bone jarring experience. Would definitely go back - but maybe not the backroad route. (Some tell me it is like a right-of-passage - lol). Next time, I'm...
