Matt's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Parkersburg

Tried to call and make an order at 10:10 and it says online that they’re open until 11:00. The person who answered the phone started out polite, but when I asked if I could make a takeout order, the woman said their grill was already off. I asked if that included pizza and she said yes, and when I responded confused and said “I thought you were open until 11” she just said “alright you have a nice night” which made me feel bad, like she was preemptively expecting me to be rude. I was genuinely just confused and now I actually am upset because it was clear that customer service was not a priority and I was discarded. The food is good. The waitstaff are polite. That said, the food isn't always what you expect. The menu tends to "embellish" where there's nothing to brag about (case in point, the fish sandwich is a frozen, thin, tiny fillet - not at all what is described), and the specials aren't always what they claim ("country fried steak" on the menu board becomes "2 small, thin, overcooked boneless pork tenderloin fillets with mashed potatoes doused in made-from-powder thin tasteless brown-tinted gravy" when delivered on the plate...). Don't take anything at face value here. You'll likely wind up disappointed. Find something on the menu you like, and don't ever deviate. Then you'll...

I lived in Pburg 4 years. Ate at Matt's 3 times. Worse restaurant experience ever. Food is horrible. Very slow. The only reason I or I should say we. I was with a group of people all 3 times went the 3 times was to see if it would have been different. This was like in a year period. You try and act like apple bee's. And how come when I read the reviews you have to end with why are they trashing in you online?? Kinda silly if ya ask me. That's what this platform is for..
