I would like to share my honest opinion with you. I do give people full rating more often than anything lower than that. I am very new to the place so found this restaurant to have very good food with very authentic taste at a reasonable price tag. They do have a long wait time but I have heard that its because of the fact that they cook everything from scratch. Also they donot take order for takeout on phone and the waiting time after ordeing is around 30mins. Additionally they run out of items many a times so call them to ask if they have what you need.
Now the most important information - most of the people in the restaurant are really rude. I am reporting it after encountering this behavior for several times. The resustant is understaffed and lady who seems to be one of the owner cannot handle the stress most of times. So she happens to express her frustration towards the customers. They take wrong orders. It happened to me one time and to another person who came to pick up an order while I was waiting to get mine. He ordered sahi paneer and got saag paneer. I ordered dosa and one Punjabi thali where they heard one Gujrati and one Punjabi thali. I considered it to become a miscommunication but the person who took the order was trying to put the blame on me by saying I placed an order but later changed my mind. On another instance I went there at 8.30pm since on Google it says the restaurant is open until 9. Even if u call them to ask how long the restaurant is open today they will say until 9 and hang up They will never say when kitchen closes. But when I went there they said that the kitchen is closed and it closes at 8.30. The elderly owner said I had been coming late for orders a couple of times, when I can tell u that was my first time to order after 8. That was not acceptable to me, but I did not feel like saying anything to an elderly women and thought she had identified me as someone else. Remember they donot post any update on Google, on their website or outside the restaurant like if they are closed or about any exceptions. And finally another day when I went to the store to order they just turned it down by saying that they are not accepting take out for the day. The overall attitude was not acceptable to me. Given its US not India. Also they are not doing any charity here, they are returning service in exchange of money. So they should have the right attitude. I pay points based on the behavior than food. I may consider on changing the rating if I see any difference in their attitude. Now one may ask why I still go there, the answer is that I am new to place and donot have any other places to go to. Once I have an alternative most likely I will stop...
Read moreI usually don't leave 1 star rating but because Google won't let me write a review without putting a 🌟, I ended up putting one. When I read the overall 4.5 and above rating got super impressed and when me and 5 year old finally had our chance to have a date after a long while, and he wanted to have dosa after a day of fun, Annapurna seemed the best choice. When I arrived at the restaurant around 7pm and there were 2 families already seated. No staff was upfront so I waited for few minutes and a guy who was waiting others showed sign to take me a seat. Me and son found a place to sit. From that time on the wait started. Possibly after 5 min or so the guy came asking for what we wanted with a menu paper and did bring a jug of water. I immediately ordered a plain dosa for my son who was very clear with his selection and I picked veggie uthappam. Seemed simple enough and we were excited to wrap our day with choices we were looking for. A 10 min or so later another couple walked in and the guy spotted them and asked them to sit. Then another couple of men walked in and staff seemed to know these 2 men based on their body language. From then on we waited for half hour. The only guy who was waiting, receiving guests and serving brought the dishes for the 2 families that were there before I came in. I thought well this is great I am served within 30 min although typically dosas don't take that long. To my shock, he brought 2 plates of dosas for the 2 men that came 15 min after me. I thought that was weird and still didn't lose hope and started waiting patiently as it was something my little guy asked for. But 10 min after no food and it almost felt like the 2 men ate their food and the guy was serving others. This was the point when even my son started asking why it is getting too late. With much of frustration and a bit of anger that we were not served on a first come first serve basis, I decided to take my business to Burger King where we were treated like Kings ( I mean literally my son got his crown too lol..) and got served in 10 min. All you Ohio neighbors...you have a lot of patience to put up with a restaurant who may possibly have good food but what is the point when you don't get...
Read moreMy husband and I frequent many Indian restaurants, (India Garden, Honest, Biryani Hut, Paradise Biryani, Saffron Patch, Taste of Kerala, Indian Flame, to name several), and Annapurna is not one we will visit again.
Although the food was good, the service was not. Our friend has a severe nut allergy and he asked the staff after he placed his order if any of the food he had ordered had nuts, the server replied that nothing he had ordered had nuts. After he received his Thali, he realized his dessert side had several cashews in it. He ignored the dessert and ate the rest of the Thali. This could have been very dangerous had he not noticed this in advanced.
Then, when I had ordered I originally said the incorrect menu item, but I had corrected my order before the server left our table. The server still put in the wrong menu item. When I tried to send the item back and request the correct item, the server asked me to just eat what I was served instead. It was very bizarre.
I understand this is a small business, and I would have paid for the extra entree, even though this is not custom practice, however, the server didn’t offer to order me anything new, he simply told me to eat the incorrect order I received and said it was my fault because I had said the wrong word to begin with (even though I had corrected my mistake before the server left to place the order). Another staff member came out later and allowed me to order a new item, but the whole experience was strange and we could hear them talking about our table while they were in the kitchen.
Needless to say there are other small business Indian Restaurants we prefer to eat at, we don’t need to return...
