Follow up: What an utterly wild response you resorted to… you reviewed footage of me asking about the bill and said it was giving someone a hard time? I cannot take this seriously. She said that’s not what I heard and I literally said (with disappointment) “alright” and had already respectfully handed her the signed check. I assure you I smiled, said please, said thank you, and no one disrespected or was rude to your team. I happily showed her the menu when she said the wing flavor didn’t exist (something blackberry). Hopefully you achieved what you wanted, to try and discredit feedback you don’t like. You guys fell short, but I can imagine why you didn’t feel the group was a good fit as they did not look like the majority of your clientele. Take care. This evening was my third time visiting The Broken Oar. Other times, we came during the week. Today we wanted to meet some friends to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We arrived around 6:30pm and it was very busy and had a wait of 30 minutes. No problem! We scored one bar seat and another became available. For some reason, they didn't allow anyone to self-seat at all the open bar area tables. But okay, we will happily follow their procedures. It became significantly less busy at 7:30 and our group was all present. The street corn quesadilla was a 10/10! The drinks met our expectations. The hostesses were great. One bartender, unfortunately not the one we were working with, was a rockstar. However, the remainder of the service left a lot to be desired. The order in which customers were served didn't make sense, skipping over people in our small group at the bar, and forgetting items. Two people in our party asked why we brought them there and left early directly related to the poor service they received. I said to my boyfriend "maybe someone called out and she's making a sacrifice to help behind the bar" when someone said she shouldn't be behind the bar. That's the kind of grace I think everyone should be given. Bartender was not well versed in available items, which brought about the largest downfall of the visit. $80 charge for 4 shots of Don Julio when my boyfriend decided on rail after the bartender wasn't sure what was available, then checked and gave options, and my boyfriend asked for rail. She brought them and asked if we wanted limes, he said yes and she brought the limes. Just our tab was $332 (plus other purchases from our friends) and when both my boyfriend and myself brought to her attention that we asked for rail tequila, not Don Julio, she said "I didn't hear that", and that was that. Her 20% tip was included on the bill as a service fee so she was whole and we unjustly paid the price for the error or her misunderstanding, whatever it may be. We put $10 in the juke box and after a couple of songs, a DJ arrives. Okay, no problem we'll eat that little loss. We were the only people to tip the DJ, I believe $15. All that to say, we're not throwing thousands at this place but we were happy to pay for everything we requested. I was really upset leaving with an $80 charge for top shelf shots we didn't request. My boyfriend is a long time bartender and knows the difference in pricing between rail top shelf; he didn't ask for Don Julio. It's really discouraging that this was not made right; as a long time professional in the customer service field, I work really hard for my money and I was taken advantage of without any attempt to...

Whether it is straight from the menu or if small substitutions are need there is never any problem. Given the popularity of sushi (in general) it can be a little bit of a wait to get the order. That is understandable and has never been an issue with us. That was the case with tonight's order as it was a little busy. If you ask, the server can usually give you an approximate wait time for sushi orders - caveat: it's NOT a science and only an approximate. The appetizers have a wide variety and we have tried most of them. The chips/dips was out go to this evening. Ample amount of chips were tasty with guacamole, salsa and cheese queso for the dips. The pretzel is quite good too. I had the buffalo chicken wrap with tots. It was spot on as always. Great balance between greens and chicken while not overly spicy. Also asked for extra bleu cheese for the wrap. The tots were crispy and hot. A very good portion as well. My younger son had the chicken fingers and fries. Nice size portions on both and hot and crispy. The fries are fantastic. The service, as always, was fantastic. Each summer season they restart for the busy-time of the year so there are several new faces and personalities to get to know. We have had the experience of having just about each server and even dined at the bar itself. Always superb with each encounter. As for the relatively new 20% gratuity/service charge now instituted, from my perspective it has become a necessity as many restaurants have instituted a policy along those lines. Being on a fixed income now I still manage to make do, often going over the 20%. Outstanding service and meals overall and will continue to come back.
Had a fantastic dinner experience tonight ( (Wednesday). With the great weather and trivia night it was packed. Every table taken for a good portion of our time there. Experienced ordering appetizer, a dish from the special menu, a special order from the main menu and the sushi menu. Everything arrived in rapid order, hot and complete as is always the case. The service was outstanding. The family has never had a negative or even a medium bad experience. The food and service are always...
Read moreSo my friends came over by boat from The North Point Yacht Club came to our house on the water and we suggested going to The Broken Oar 4/28/2024 around 5pm. We came by boat. We were put on the waiting list because they 30 min wait for inside. Got some drinks and went back to the boat. Waited like 40 minutes no text yet. Went up there to see what was goung on and they said we sent you a text. At that point we got seated right away. We received our text like 15 minutes later at our table waiting to get waited on. So for 15 minutes we just sat there. The waitress finally came over and acknowledged us said she would be right back in the mean time a waiter came over and said the same thing. Like 5 minutes later the waitress came back and was telling us that she was feeling light headed so we had her sit while she took our order. In the mean time the waiter came back over and they were discussing who's table it was. At this point we were getting aggravated just someone please take our order.so we placed our order with the waitress. Our food came and our order was completely mess up. Ordered a Cobb salad with shrimp. A Cobb salad according to your menu comes with egg, onion, cucumbers etc. But it was just lettuce, tomatoes and shrimp. That was taken off our friends order. Her husband order a burger and, asked for tomatoes which he never got on his burger. As far as my husband and I, I ordered the chicken Ceasars wrap which had no Ceasars dressing. At first they brought my some kind of chicken sandwich. My husband ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap with fries. The wrap had like a sweet teriyaki sauce no Buffalo sauce which he only ate half of it and threw the rest away. The French fries were good. My friends ordered sushi and they said it was delicious. Well we won't return. Totally disappointed because we suggested The Broken Oar because our friends have never been and they were totally...
