Terrible Experience ā Rude Staff, Dishonest Practices, and No Regard for Customers
I had one of the worst experiences ever at this restaurant. The cashier was extremely rude from the moment we walked ināclearly not in the mood to take orders and had a horrible attitude. When I asked about Halal food, instead of giving a polite response, he got annoyed and dismissive. He vaguely mentioned they āhave certificationā but couldnāt show anything.
We placed our order and were told to wait 25 minutes, so we waited in the car. After 15 minutes, I went inside to add another item, and he immediately started shouting at me to stay outside and wait the full 25 minutes because he was āpreparing.ā His behavior was aggressive and completely unprofessional.
Later, when I asked again about the Halal food due to his unclear response, he started yelling and offered a refund instead of clarifying. We agreed to refund the chicken and just keep the vegetarian food. After waiting 35 minutes, I went in againāand was once again yelled at! He told me bluntly that he doesnāt care how long we wait, and that he wonāt serve the food, and we should just take a refund. Completely shocking behavior for someone in the hospitality business.
His attitude was abusive, insulting, and downright hostile. I called the business owner, who arrived and instead of taking control or apologizing, shrugged and said he doesnāt know how to handle the cashier. No apology. No courtesy. Just indifference.
This restaurant claims to serve Halal food but has no certification or transparency to back it upāthis is deceitful and deeply disrespectful to customers who rely on that information for religious reasons.
To make it worse, the whole atmosphere is dominated by a gang-like mentalityāno accountability, no professionalism. I even spoke to the property manager, who admitted they constantly receive complaints but canāt do anything because the property owner is also Punjabi and wonāt take action.
This place is a disgrace to the food and service industry. They lie, they mistreat, they abuse, and they cheat. They should not be allowed to run a food business, especially not one claiming Halal service. The owner and staff need a serious lesson in customer rights, hospitality, and basic human decency.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreHaving moved to Mississippi eight years ago from California, we've missed Indian food. We read reviews and decided that the next time we were in the area, we would stop in and try it. This is in a convenience store/truck stop, so please, don't think this is "fine dining". With ambiance taken into consideration, we were not disappointed. We ordered the paneer pakora, tandoori chicken, butter chicken, two garlic naan, a mango lassi and gulab jamun. We were served chai as well. It was chilly in the building, so the chai was awesome! The paneer pakora was all of the umami. Sweet, savory, salty all in perfect balance. The other dishes were not overwhelmingly hot-spicy but authenticity seasoned with just enough heat for southern taste (or those of us who haven't had Indian food in years). The tandoori chicken had a great flavor and the cilantro, onion and other toppings just set it off! Butter chicken had the depth of flavor I enjoy. The basmati was not just the average "white rice", it was seasoned as well! I was thrilled to have real naan. The interaction with staff was pleasant and we really enjoyed ourselves. I decided to get the gulab jamun at the last minute to bring home. It also did not disappoint. While there's a restaurant much closer to me in Mississippi, I am so happy with this place that I plan to go back whenever I'm in the area. That's saying a lot. Totally recommend stopping in! We were warned that it might be better to call ahead and place an order as they often get loads of orders which result in long wait times, which I totally understand from working in the food...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe didnāt have any Indian restaurant in Slidell, LA so imagine my surprise when I found out about the new Indian restaurant āChachaās dhaba Indian cuisineā in Pearl River inside a food court in a Pilot gas station off Exit 5A going towards Hattiesburg, literally 15 min from us. Iāve been there 4 times in the past 6 weeks and tried many different dishes from their lunch special $14.95 to chicken tikka masala $14.95 to tandoori chicken $13.95 to chole bhature $10.95 to shahi paneer $11.95 (plenty of vegetarian options) to Chachaās special goat curry $16.95 to lamb biryani $14,95 to goat biryani $15.95 to samosas (2) with white chickpeas for $5.95. Food was good and they prepare it fresh from scratch after you place your order so be prepared to wait 15-20min depending upon how busy they are. They use fresh ingredients and their chicken literally melted in my mouth. I would definitely recommend for appetizers and order if samosas and chole bhature. Their chicken tikka masala was mediocre but goat curry and biryanis were good. Definitely check out the place as you wonāt be disappointed with fresh and healthy Indian food prepared right in...
