The 3rd Street Station — Restaurant in Pecatonica Township

I can't believe the turnaround this place has made! Whoever decided to take up the place has very obviously put an immense amount of time, effort, and money into reopening this business and I am highly impressed. The atmosphere is very sweet, cute, and much more professional. They have also integrated the use of more technology for quicker and easier service with the menus digitally displayed on TVs behind the counter that are easy to read, and a computerized cash register (no more minimum amount for credit/debit purchases is nice). Honestly they have thought of everything, including the little things like cute ice cream dishes with shovel shaped spoons, and coffee ice cubes for the cold coffee drinks so that they don't water down as you drink them (in fact they only get pleasantly stronger as you drink). When we came down to try it out we walked and didn't get here until about 9pm because Google has it posted not to close until 10pm (which actually needs to be updated because they close at 9pm and do have this posted on the outside of their building). They were just closing up as we got here but they let us in anyway and got us some ice cream and coffee! I was very happy to see that they are still serving Cedar Crest ice cream because of the high quality of the brand and the continuity pertaining to the business before them. Absolutely fantastic sandwich and ice cream shop to meet your hunger needs. My wife and I drove over from Lena last night to eat a meal out during this quarantine time. Their are so nice, a sweet girl took our order at the sidewalk window and then in a short time brought our meal out to the car. Then while parked on the street of this village, we enjoyed two great sandwiches, some onion rings and a shake ( I know not very healthy) but was the best. Treat your family to a perfect meal. Great award winning ice cream. The burger and fries were very good. Wasn't sure how good their burger was going to be. $5.70 for the 1/3 pound bacon cheeseburger. Excellent burger and it didn't shrink much in the cooking as it was still quite large. So it had to be a better quality of beef. For the money and taste I would easily stop by for another. My daughter really enjoyed her Philly/cheese sandwich. Friendly staff. Every time one went by our table they made sure to ask if we needed anything. Nice...
