We visited Oishi tonight with a party of 6 for my daughters birthday. Seated quickly, and placed drink order relatively quick. Waitress was extremely friendly, but for reasons unknown, very slow. We suspected slow bar service but can not know for sure. Appetizers came out, including sushi, salads, saki, etc. Saki was luke warm at best, a request was put in for yum yum sauce for sushi (which arrived well after we were done with sushi). When main course was served, (mine was filet and scallops) it was so cold, I never even tasted. Rice was clumped together as if it had just came out of fridge. 4 of the 6 dinners at table was the same way. We requested manager and when she came out I asked she touch the filet and scallops and she agreed it was cold. While she did remove the meals from ticket, she never once acknowledged the poor service and worse than gas station quality of food. We paid for the cold saki, sushi we never received sauce for, and a kids plate. The chef here should be fired, waitress should be given proper training and manager...well not sure there is hope for her since she had no clue what to do until I told her I was not paying for anything not consumed. Absolutely an insult to Asian cuisine. I wouldnt feed my dog the plates that was present to us today. We left there and went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. And for those that may say I am to hard on staff.....we paid 55.00 for a cold saki, sweet teas, cokes and 2 rolls of sushi. Also, even though waitress was without a doubt in need of training, left a 9.00 tip. There will be pigs serving sushi on satin pillows before we ever visit Oishi again......take the extra time and visit Izumis.....you...
Read moreI found this little place out and about in my travels and decided to give it a whirl! This restaurant is wait to be seated, take out or dine in with table service and pay the server when done kind of place. I walked in at 12:41 pm and was seated immediately. My server was extremely friendly and quick to take care of my needs as well. My drink order was taken, I ordered tea half n half. The tea was light in color and did not have a strong flavor to it and could stand to be stronger. I ordered the honey chicken and once upon arrival trying it, the chicken was like your standard sweet and sour breaded chicken, there was a ample portion of this, however the glaze barely tasted like honey if at all. The fried rice was well your standard fried rice, but this had hardly any of the small veggies in it at all, a few kernels of corn and only a few and that's it. The meal came with soup and I ordered the egg drop soup and this had a great taste, strongly like the egg taste it should, this was very tasty. The ambiance of this place gives it charm and is very large on the inside, along with a full service bar of that's your flavor. Work on the honey chicken flavor to improve, add some veggies to your fried rice and this would be much better. Parking was ample for the volume of people that flows in and out...
Read moreI give it only four stars because of the Chinese food; just stick to Japanese dishes and you won’t be disappointed. I wouldn't suggest the Chinese dishes. Even the egg drop soup is not what you normally get at a Chinese restaurant. This is owned and operated by Japanese people and they are good at sushi and hibachi but the Chinese food has a different taste than we are accustomed to here. I have eaten here many times. The Chinese food may have changed... The Hibachi menu is where it’s at; good steak and awesome shrimp. The same quality as Fuji and P.F. Chang’s. The rice is great but with their delicious “yum yum” sauce it comes alive. They offer well priced Bento box dinners and lunches. You get your choice of meat, vegetables, rice, california roll (4) or Gyoza (2), soup, and salad. Really convenient for on the go. It is a large plastic tray with all of your food in separate compartments. A lot better and easier than them shoving all this food into a styrofoam to go box. For sushi you must try the spicy crab hand roll, it's not too spicy and doesn't have a raw fish taste. For appetizer you need to try the steak maki. It is sliced steak cooked with teriyaki sauce rolled around scallops; a must! It would be a shame to eat here only once because of the...
