Unfortunately, upon our first time dining here we were very disappointed. There are some serious operation issues with the dine in services that management needs to address.
While I understand that having a full staff is difficult to achieve, the waitstaff on shift was not sufficient for the quantity of guests dinning in. My husband and I waited 40 minutes to be greeted by our waitress and put our drink order in. When our drinks were brought out, another server brought them and the order was not correct. Additionally, the drinks were not made as the menu described them.
Our original server returned about 20 minutes later to take our dinner order. We placed an order for two entrées and an appetizer. The appetizer we initially wanted to try was no longer available.
After another 45 minutes, our entrèes came out cold with our appetizer. We did not get the opportunity to place a second drink order until the server came back around.
During our next interaction with our server, we asked for an another glass of water for my husband and some ketchup. My husband was never brought another water and shortly after the ketchup had been brought to us, our server returned and asked if we were done using it. I found this to be strange.
We spent $100 on our meal, however the quality of the food was not worth the price we spent. One of the only things that was enjoyable about the meal was the atmosphere. We sat outside overlooking the lake in the treehouse dinning area.
It seems that there are multiple easy fixes for the issues that we experienced during our meal. First, management should have properly staffed themselves for the evening to turn tables over quickly and optimized guests’ dining experience. Second, the kitchen is located in the main building of the restaurant. To prevent a back up and keep dishes from going cold, there should be a separate line/window for food going to outside tables. Lastly, management should equip their staff with the resources that they need to provide the best experience for their guest and give them the best chance of success including proper training and materials such as condiments and silverware needed for a restaurant.
We were not the only table disappointed with our meal as I heard multiple other tables discussing their poor service, long wait times and overall discontent.
I hope this feedback will help to better improve Town Tavern’s service as it has the potential to be a great restaurant given...

Read moreWe love the atmosphere and the view but after our 2nd visit I have an issue with being charged $2 for “extra” tortilla chips and the hostess/seating arrangement needs to be addressed. We arrived before 3pm on a Sunday and we’re told there was an hour wait. Outside there are 2 picnic tables and 3 round tables empty. I asked the hostess about those and was told they don’t seat everyone at the same time and they had people waiting for those tables and only larger parties were seated at the picnic tables. We were a party of 4 and a baby and I saw several party of 4’s at the picnic tables. Our phone seating assignment said there were 22 parties ahead of us… what?! So we are supposed to wait an hour but you have empty seats? Once seated we order a pretzel only to be told they were out. We place other appetizer orders for the avocado street corn and carne asada fries. The waitress brings those out and says I brought extra tortilla chips. None of those needed tortilla chips but we thought maybe they came with the avocado. Husband pays the bill on their scan to pay app and we get home only to see they charged $2 for those “extra” chips which was literally a handful. Again we love the atmosphere but the seating issue needs to be addressed and don’t bring chips if you’re going to charge extra without disclosing it. Truly disappointed in this visit. If you can’t handle the amount of people that show up that’s not the...
