Up until tonight the food and help were excellent. We have been here many times. Tonight......awful. it seems the help has reached their full level of incompetence. There were four people standing behind the register when we walked in. They all just stared at us until WE said to seat us. That also seemed to confused by this and they all started looking around for a booth (many empties) one just five feet from the register. The sign right next to them said wait to be seated. Maybe they never read it. They finally sat us at the very close empty booth The booth right behind us was where some more of the help were taking their breaks. We sat for about 20 minutes before we decided to ask the girls on break about getting waited on . They told us they would "find" our waitress. Find? Was she lost? She may have been. I would think the people at the register should have told her she had a table...but what do I know? She finally found her way to our table after about five minutes. She seemed pleasant enough..very young..maybe not very experienced. She did not apologize for how long we waited. She took our drink orders and our food orders. Usually drinks come first. A very few minutes later (way too fast lol..maybe making up for our long way to get waited on?) a different waitress came with most of the order but no drinks. The original waitress came back a few minutes later with the drinks and the missing food. Most of the food was cold and we do mean cold. We told our young waitress and she decided the manager should be summoned. It took awhile to find him too. The place is big...but not that big. He came over ..nice enough guy. He did bring us hotter replacement food. The onion rings seemed to present a problem...they couldn't get the bread crumbs to stick...😱 . Anyway, he..the manager made a good attempt at making it right. He took the onion rings off the bill. The waitress dropped off the bill...but she didn't come back for it for another really long time. So I got up to pay at the register. Now mind you..the register was five feet away. The woman at the register said ."oh I will get your server " that, again, took awhile. The girl got the bill and took it right to the register I had tried to pay the bill at in the first place...wth??? wouldn't it have been faster for the woman who was standing there to ring it up??? She had hands...maybe it was too much technology for her? I don't know. By the end of the meal our friend decided she needed to have a talk with the manager for how bad things had gone. She must have waited fifteen more minutes..while several people went in search of him. I was wondering if maybe there was some portal to another dimension he and the waitress may have kept falling into. He was finally found and he listened politely...said he'd talk to our waitress. I don't think that the whole thing should have completely fallen on the young waitress. After all..she didn't make the cold food we were served and she was not one of the four at the register when we first walked in who just stood and stared at us. The manager did give us 30 dollars in gift certificates and apologized....but why would we go back?? Roadies had always been a good...

We were looking for a place to have some food after being on the road for a while. Stumbled on this place with two huge outdoor decks that had a beautiful view. We had our dog with us, and since we didn't want to leave him in the hot car while we ate, we thought we could just sit on one of the decks instead of the inside restaurant.

We called ahead of time and asked in person, but the restaurant attached to Penn's Peak, Roadies, is not pet friendly. Their reasoning was that there were other guests on the patio and they didn't want our (medium sized and calm) dog to scare them. That didn't sit right with us, but it is their restaurant and we wanted to respect their decision, so we ordered our food and sat at a gazebo to eat.

We were enjoying the views and eating with our pup. But then! We saw a younger couple with a baby and a DOG go and eat on the patio! Why were they allowed to eat on the deck but we couldn't? Was it because we weren't regulars or something? Very confusing and upsetting.

The food was okay, for being in takeout boxes and eating with plastic utensils. We ordered the following:

PORK TOTCHOS Crispy tater tots, slow roasted pulled pork, smoked bacon, cheddar, pepperjack cheese, scallions, hickory BBQ drizzle. $14

LOADED PIEROGIES Sautéed pierogies, stuffed with potatoes and cheese, topped with bacon, caramelized onions, smoked gouda cheese sauce. Served with a side of sour cream. $10

BBQ PORK Brioche roll, house braised pork, hickory bbq sauce, coleslaw, red onions. (with sweet potato waffle fry upgrade) $16

GRILLED PORTOBELLO Brioche roll, grilled portobello, fried goat cheese, spring mix, pesto, tomatoes, red onion, balsamic aioli. (with onion rings upcharge) $15

The tater tots were a bit soggy and the sweet potato fries tasted stale. Would recommend the pierogies though, very good. The meat in the pork totchos was much sweeter than the meat in the pulled pork which confused us a little.

I want to start off by saying I’ve never had an experience like that in my life. That had to be the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. We were told “they just got off a wait” yet still had several people in front of us that needed to be sat. That made no sense…. Anyway, we were told we needed to wait for outdoor seating as well which I opted to do because that’s where we wanted to sit. We waited about 20 minutes which was fine. But we waited those 20 minutes to be told they had no outside seating and needed to be sat inside regardless. We sat for another 15-20 minutes for us to even be greeted by a server to get drinks and one appetizer ordered. We got our drinks in a decent time frame but after that it went down hill. There were 3 adults and a toddler. After over 45 minutes we finally got the appetizer and the toddlers food. The toddler ate their food and by the time toddler was done eating we were STILL waiting for our food. After over an hour of waiting for food and the other wait times tacked on my toddler was done. That’s a really long time for a toddler to sit. One of us eventually went up and asked for our check and our food in boxes to take home instead because our toddler started acting out. The MANAGER was out walking around at this point and did not find it appropriate to come talk to us about our wait times and overall experience but she sure had a problem with the toddlers behavior. That seemed to be the only reason why she came out in the first place. There was no apology from the manager once. Once we got home we reheated our food and found that we shouldn’t have even went out at that point. I’ve could have made those burgers at home myself. The food wasn’t even impressive. I’ve never went out of my way to write out a review about a bad experience but this one was awful. I’m disgusted we even wasted our money on this place. Drive right on by and go...

Roadies has top notch staff who are very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is comfortable, not too loud, pleasant music (80’s and 90’s) and the views are incredible. The walls are lined with photos of the artists who have played there and other decorations pay homage to the music we all love. But, the food could be so much better which would make this venue really shine like it deserves to. My wife and I ordered the fried chicken and according to the menu, it comes with fries, coleslaw, seasonal vegetables, and although it isn’t clear, the hot honey comes on the side. I ordered a Caesar side salad which confused the waitress because she subbed it for my coleslaw. Not a big deal. Neither of our plates included seasonal vegetables and to be quite honest, I think it’s a typo on the menu because the waitress didn’t even mention what the seasonal veggies were when presented with the menus. The fried chicken was okay and the portions were small. The drumstick was about the size of my thumb, it was by far the smallest drumstick I ever saw. I’ve had drum wings twice its size. The fries were also okay, more on the floppy side with some having a little crunch. The Caesar salad was very good! Loved the dressing. My wife did the coleslaw and she said it was decent. The Hot honey sauce was money, man was it good. The Iced tea was freshly brewed and the lemonade was outstanding. Our bill came to just over $46 with tax. If the chicken portions were a little larger and not the size of a Cornish hen, season the breading with pepper and herbs, and leave the fries in the oil just a bit longer for that needed crunch on the fresh cut fries, this would have been a five star review.

We used to love this place. We have a house up in the Poconos and this was our go to spot before Covid for the unbeatable view and good eats for decent prices. They gave each table free chips to start that were so good. Now, unfortunately, food is going downhill. They don't offer the chips anymore, and service is always extremely slow without them being busy. Our food came out all cold (for 7 people!) after waiting over 45 minutes after ordering with maybe 5-7 tables in the entire restaurant with multiple servers. We did get a discount for the inconvenience and apology for the wait, but it's hard to keep coming back when this was the third bad experience in a row. We still spent over $100 for our family to go out to eat and leave unhappy. Our waitress was nice, and she said she noticed our food was taking a while. Then why not check in with us? Why not say Hey guys, I'm checking on your food? There is no accountability. Blamed it on the kitchen. How could it take so long and yet be so cold? It seems the best explanation was it was left with the runner and waitress ignoring it? Burgers were not cooked as ordered (came out well done when medium rare was asked), and even on the second go, no better. The manager helped cook to get our replacements out faster. The fries were fine but all cold. They must've plopped then back in the fryer because the second time out, they were all crunchy and overcooked. We still had an hour and a half drive home, so we said it's fine, let's just go. The dessert was good. Recap: Great views, gone downhill, only go if you have time to kill, will take 2-3 hours.
