Service was exceptional and very nice staff. Expectations were high for my 5yr old granddaughter. The donuts looked delicious so we each tried a piece. Needless to say even my granddaughter didn’t like the donuts. We threw them away after trying 2 from the dozen. We ordered with chocolate and sprinkles. The donut batter was bland and tough, obviously over mixed. They taste and add a pinch of salt. The “chocolate” mixture was thin and not very chocolatey. The best part were the sprinkles. Being a Chgo native many restaurants serve these mini donuts plain, powdered sugar, or cinnamon and sugar dusting. They are usually good even plain, not in this case. Everything I've tried has been good but my favorite had been the maple bacon donuts until I tried the cinnamon with that cup of icing omg delicious. I'm a creature of habit, but trying new things here have not disappointed. The lavender tea was a surprise addition to my new likes as well. I can't wait to try the lemonade next! Wendy you have an amazing staff and charming little shop that even during busier times of day the staff gets you in and out while also offering plenty of seating outside. I've always had a place to park when I've come too. Lake areas are often tight places to get around in. I just notice about the place during winter when it was closed. So I waited until summer when they would open, and when they did I went with a friend and we drove to the place. We got there and it was cute and very nice scenery I would say, the little dog bowls they had, benches and tables to sit with friends with was nice. There donuts were delicious too, I was expecting like the big donuts when i seen the minis ones I was alright I’ll give it a try.
