I want to start off by saying, this was hands down the best gastronomic experience of my life (period). One day, my partner and I decided to go out and try this place. Neither one of us knew what to expect. I was awestruck with the interior of the restaurant. Very beautiful wood and a rustic fireplace great you with a warm welcome as you enter the dining space. We ordered a pear, berry, goat cheese and nut salad of some kind that was beyond anything I’ve ever tasted. Every bite was perfect. The size of the greens, the quantity of the berries, down to the thickness of the pear slice was such that every bite was shear heaven. Every berry was perfectly sweet. The dressing was exactly the right quantity. Our salad was not “swimming” in dressing, nor scantily clad waiting to be seen naked. In addition, it was only right that such a taste look as it did. The salad was plated beautifully. With intention in every detail. It was plated so that each bite contains all of the ingredients to ensure maximum flavor. A lovely start to the rest of the meal. Let me not forget to mention the bread, with whipped butter, honey, and cinnamon infused. I have never tasted such excellence. This brings us to the next course, the stuffed salmon entree I ordered. Delicate and tender, moist and savory. Each bite was a new experience. The flavor never became boring on my pállate. Every bite was better than the last. It was served with a side of rice and asparagus. The asparagus was a beautiful contrast of flavor and texture to the salmon. Crunchy, bitter, and light. The rice was unlike any I’ve had before. Tender like a risotto, however not at all mushy. It could stand alone as it’s own experience. It must have been cooked with drippings from a slowly roasted chicken, as the flavor was so deep and rich. It paired so well with the salmon. Finally, it was time for dessert. They had something special for us. A key lime pie. We ordered this with coffee. The key lime pie was tart and crisp upon first tasting it, and quickly transformed to a smooth, creamy flavor, finishing off with the sweet caramel drizzle and flakey crust. The coffee was beautifully earthy and bitter to cut through the plethora of unique flavor experiences happening from the key lime pie, so that each bite could begin anew. As I said, this was the most amazing eating experience I’ve ever had. So if you’ve made it this far in the review, thank you for your attention. I really felt I needed to highlight how significant and important each moment of this meal was for me. At this point, all there is left to say is thank you to the chef who made this possible. Thank you to the server. And if you are still reading this and are not on your way there now, what are you waiting for? Go live in bliss....
Read moreI don’t know where to start with this place. Or how to express how horrible the experience was here…. We drove an hour to come here for a birthday dinner. Let’s start with the only good thing, the server was nice and friendly. The restaurant it self is cute, however when you start looking closely not the cleanest place, cobwebs and dust in all the corners but whatever. Now the food… horrible is too good of a word. Wife ordered the Scallops, she got 4 tiny, about the size of a quarter scallops, white rice which was unseasoned and tasted like mold, and green beans that were old and wilted and also unseasoned. I ordered the “cowboy cut” rib eye. First off this was not a cowboy cut which is usually a nice bone in steak, this was the worst quality steak I have ever eaten, I know ribeyes are usually fatty compared to other cuts, but there was no edible meat on this steak. Basic salt and pepper seasoning, nothing special, and the “whiskey butter” was completely flavorless. Came with garlic mashed potatoes that were also unseasoned and flavorless and the same old wilted green beans as my wife. Even the soda I ordered was flat. No choice of sides, you get what you get and most likely will get upset…. I’ve had better food sold out of the trunk of peoples cars and the audacity of the owners to call this “fine dining”. Dollar general sells a better quality steak than this… Claimed they took 20% off the bill cause we didn’t like the food but when we did the math, they took 20% off my steak and not the total bill. I dont understand how this place has such good reviews… What an absolute disgrace and disappointment. Do better… No wonder the place was empty , we should have taken that as a sign and just left than. Ended up at Arby’s which was far better a choice than Fairview, also even the name is a lie, Fairview? View of what the abandoned house across the street? Stay away...
Read moreThis was our 3rd visit and our last. Such a cute place and a great outdoor area. BYO is a plus for sure. Food was always decent, not great, but decent. Was very cold inside, but chalked it up to the huge vaulted ceiling which prob cost a ton to heat properly. We were the only ones in the place which is not a good sign (another couple did show up later, but that was it). The server let us know there were a lot of items on the menu that were not available, another red flag. Bread was actually very good & fresh & mushroom cap app was nice & hot which warmed us up lol. We ordered the house salad which was supposed to have olives, sunflower seeds & pine nuts. It had none of that, just a few yellow tomatoes & 1 strawberry sliced & a raspberry dressing which was way too sweet. Salad was awful & not anything of what was described. So we decided to split the entrée which was a seafood dish in marinara sauce over pasta. Was supposed to be clams, shrimp & crabmeat. Server said they had no clams so they would add extra shrimp & crabmeat. We got the dish and there was crabmeat & old shrimp & what appeared to be the end piece of a larger fish with the black skin still on it. I asked what fish that was and server said it was salmon. It was mostly that black slimy skin and was old. Were they trying to do us a favor by adding that piece of salmon? No idea but this made the dish awful. Did the cook think we were blind and not see this chunk of old fish that was not even supposed to be in the dish? At least we didn't get sick from it but will never return to this place. Maybe they are going out of business and that's why half the menu was unavailable and they were throwing stuff in just to get rid of it? Gee thanks Fairview Cafe for serving us one of the worst meals we have had in a restaurant ever. And we go out all the...
