Just wanted to say that a couple buddies and I went to the Dock last night after not being there for a couple years. We were very happy with our experience! We were out on the boat and it was time to eat. We decided on The Dock mainly for the ease ability of “Dock and Dine” which I have done more times in the past than going by car. Upon entering, we went straight into the bar area and found 3 seats at the bar together. Sweet! Brothers Ben and Dan took care of us. Those guys were spot on. They were busy but still smiling and being personable with us. Glasses never sat empty. They were good dudes! Casey was in and out of the bar area as well and was helping out and she was doing an equally great job. She brought our food out too. Met some nice people while there, even two guys from my town, 2 hours away! Atmosphere was very nice as well. Oh, I almost forgot about the food… Superb! I got the bang-bang wings. Very flavorful, not dry, felt good all night. My cousin got French onion soup and a chicken Caesar salad on a pizza crust. He loved both! My buddy had a broccoli and cheddar soup and said it was excellent. I heard there is a pretty new chef there which I could tell he knew what he was doing. Definitely a nice time was had at The Dock, thanks to Dan, Ben, and Casey and of course the rest of the staff who all looked happy to be there! We will be back! UPDATE! Well, we went back a week later. Had dinner in the dining room and were given great service by Tara, Marshall, Tim, and some others who I didn’t catch their names! We eat at all of Settlers establishments often, and the next day went to Settlers Inn (Grants Woods) and saw Tim again from the night before. He’s a character. I get along good with him. Must be the name! Haha. That went great. The next day we went back to The Dock and sat in the Bar. Peggy was our bartender and waitress and was awesome. Chris brought out our food, and yes, we saw Tim again! Casey was there too and remembered me. The next morning we went to Cocoon. Always a good spot. Shout out to a Lauren and her crew. In closing, I just want to say that all of Settlers Hospitality’s establishments are top notch. The Dock apparently had a little speed bump that they had to overcome in the past and I feel they made it. The new Chef is working out great. All of the employees care about their patrons and their jobs. Props...
Read moreWent here with my family this past weekend and expected some pretty high quality food, especially since they made it very clear they, “did not hold reservations even if you’re just a minute late”, as well as the prices being quite expensive. Not to mention a couple of the ceiling tiles were about ready to fall on top of the table we were sitting at. Firstly, despite our table being sat before the next two tables, we still received both our drinks and food last. We also only had one server compared to the other two who had three each. We then realized based on how the staff were acting with them (specifically two young waiters) that it was clear they simply knew the families, hence the special treatment. I had ordered the spinach and artichoke dip for a starter. When it came, one half of the dish was incredibly hot while the other side was just cold. That made me realize it was probably just stuck in the microwave. Two of us ordered the chicken parm and the waitress has said initially that “it was not a pasta” which we were fine with, but when it came it wasn’t even chicken parm. It was just a fried chicken cutlet on a bed of arugula. It was also incredibly dry and bland. I had also ordered the TBLT which had said on the menu it had a maple aioli that I was fine with. However, when I tasted it, it was overly sweet and completely overpowered the sandwich. We were still being quite nice to our waitress despite the slow and apathetic service compared to the other tables, but once we had ordered dessert, the other servers kept coming over to us asking if we were done and offering to take our plates despite us clearly still eating. Meanwhile, the tables I had mentioned before hadn’t ordered food in over 30 minutes, and were still just sitting down and drinking. Overall, the customer service, prices, and food taste did not meet even the minimum standards. It’s clear they want to be considered a rich and high quality restaurant but that is certainly not the case. I will also say, while I don’t want to pull the “it’s cause we’re not white card” we were in fact the ONLY table that was not fully white. So do with that information...
Read moreI made a reservation at this restaurant for this past Saturday, 10/8/22. I was advised immediately upon check in that there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY we could be seated prior to our reservation time of 6:00 despite multiple open tables. After 15 minutes of waiting until 6:00, I returned to the check in area to request preference of a nearby open table when it was relayed to me that there were no guarantees that we could be seated there and that it would be likely that we would be seated outside despite my selection of indoor seating on my reservation. The staff suggested that I check and see if it was too cold to be seated outside, which it was because of the weather and the staff’s failure to turn on any of the heaters prior to seating customers in the outside dining area. After waiting another 15 minutes, the staff advised that we could only be seated outside and suggested my mom and husband go “check it out” to see if it would work for them. When they returned to relay that it wasn’t to their satisfaction, as my mom has back and neck pain exasperated by the cold, which I notified the staff of, they continued to have us stand there and refused to seat us. My husband asked to speak to the manager to see what could be done and we were advised that there was nothing they could do. My husband asked why those with an indoor seating reservation could not be seated indoors at an open table and the on duty “manager” told us that those open tables were for other customers who had not arrived yet. When my husband asked why couldn’t they be seated outdoors, especially since my mom has a medical condition, the “manager” had nothing to say. At that point, we left. It was by far the worst service I have ever received and if google didn’t make me select 1 star, I would select none. We have been dining at this restaurant for 3 years and I am proud to say, we will never return and I will never recommend this place to anyone. My recommendation is to take your business ANYWHERE but here, a place worthy of your business who values their customers and treats them...
