Briar Patch — Restaurant in Pennville

This bar is a local tradition for Pennville. There are regulars at the counter each day. They have a pool table, a juke box and a lively atmosphere. Ive been getting the breaded Tenderloin sandwich, it is extremely delicious, be prepared to get a to go box cause their Tenderloins are huge!

The decor is eclectic and plenty to look at while you have your beer or eat a delicious meal. It reminds me of the Toby Keith song, "I love this bar." There are bikers, farmers, firemen, hippies, chain smokers and boozers. You can go here to laugh and have a conversation with a stranger, or sit in silence at the bar with a drink. It is a true classic " neighborhood bar". It is locally owned, and you can tell that the owner Lesa truly cares about her patrons, We stopped in Wednesday with our kids, for an amazing taco salad and enjoyed the outside patio. Lesa and her daughter checked on us frequently, made sure that we was well taken care of and made conversations with not only my husband and I but my children as well. They both made us feel extremely comfortable and showed us amazing hospitality, You don't find a, "we are all in this together" atmosphere like that very...

This was one of my top 5 places I have eaten at!!! The fish is fantastic. The waitress was great and nice to talk to. So glad my best friend moved to this town so I can have dinner dates often.

Update on 1/6/2024. ** Went thinking I was going to get the amazing fish. New owners and wow!!! I got a dinner I couldn’t eat! The fish was absolutely disgusting 🤮 greasy greasy and more greasy!!! I showed the waitress she did nothing about it. Least she could’ve done was taken it back to recook. She forgot fiancée drink. Never brought it back. I’m sure they didn’t care about the customers. We take turns choosing where we eat and travel a radius of a few hours from home. My wife chose this place and don’t let the small size fool you. Very friendly staff and quick witted also. The portions are very generous and the prices seem so 1990’s. If this were close I would probably stop in from time to time as it’s roughly an hour from us now.
