Whoa. Where to begin.

My wife and I have tried lots of keto foods around the valley and if you do keto, you know it is hit or miss.

Pizza is my favorite food, so I always get keto pizza when given the chance. I've been super disappointed in almost every 'keto' pizza I've tried here.

After countless failed pinterest attempts at making a keto pizza and nearly choking to death on my dry, homemade keto crust, I knew something out there had to taste good.

Enter Rec pizza..

A friend of mine sent me a Facebook post by Rec introducing the new crust, so I immediately got super excited and ordered a large keto pizza.

I was greeted by friendly staff on my arrival and was given my perfect-looking, beautiful pizza rectangles. I actually asked them to double check if it was keto, because it looked so good. It was, thankfully. The price was also less than I expected.

Sigh of relief

My wife and I had to resist eating it on the way home because it smelled delicious. We almost pulled over and just ate it in the car if it wasn't for our baby fussing in the back (he was probably excited about the pizza as well)

We got home and ate it. 11/10! It was amazing. Quality of ingredients was on point. The crust was delicious. I won't lie, it doesn't taste like normal crust, but that's because it's keto. YOU CANT HAVE BREAD ON KETO. So you settle for something that at least tastes good and passes as a good mix with the pizza flavors. I don't know why people expect it to taste just like normal pizza and get mad when it doesn't.. Anyway, it was awesome.

REC MANAGEMENT, if you ever see this, please don't get rid of this crust, or I will be really sad and may even die because I'll have to make my dry pizza crust again.

TL;DR after almost choking to death on dry homemade pizza crust, Rec keto pizza was a godsend and I've been ordering it weekly since they...

Mo-town Magic! Until a few weeks ago, I didn't even know that Detroit pizza was a thing, but it sure is and I'm a convert. When I first heard about it people told me it originated when motor oil pans were found to work as pizza pans, which is probably just an urban legend, but it got my curiosity up and then when people told me it was just Chicago pan pizza with the sauce and the cheese layers reversed, my interest waned since I prefer thin crust Naples/NY style. But I had to find out so I ordered their basic Detroit which has cheese, red sauce, and pepperoni and I was expecting a ho-hum bread crust, but I'm so glad I was wrong. The textured dough resembled ciabatta with its chewiness, and the edges were caramelized cheese (a salty flavorfulness--maybe a combo of Parmesan and Romano?) with a delightful crunchiness. And the great thing is that no piece is spared these delicious edges--wonder how that's possible--so that's why I'm calling it "Mo-town Magic." Chewy cheese sat atop it and just the right amount of a red sauce with a little zip to it, and then the pepperoni slices. I was tempted to dine-in since there was ample seating, everything looked so clean, and I enjoyed the nostalgic pictures of Detroit personalities hanging in the entryway, a little Jimmy Hendrix guitar on the counter, etc., and it looked like there were even more interesting artifacts in the dining area, but I wanted to leave something to discover on my...

I recently had the pleasure of organizing a group meal for my youth hockey team at The Rec Pizza and Detroit Eats, and it was nothing short of a game-changer! Our experience was filled with delicious food, fantastic service, and the perfect blend of a sports-friendly atmosphere.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff at The Rec was incredibly accommodating, ensuring we had ample space for our entire team and that we were well taken care of throughout our visit.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food! The Rec served up some of the most mouthwatering Detroit style pizzas that left our entire team in awe. The Rec's Detroit style pizza is baked in rectangular pans, which results in a thick, deep-dish pizza with a crispy crust. The crust of the Rec's pizza is a standout feature. It's thick, light, and airy on the inside, with a crisp, caramelized, and cheese-filled edge. Our Team favorite was the Bad Boy!

In summary, The Rec delivered a memorable experience for our hockey team. The combination of outstanding food, a welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service made it an unforgettable meal. Whether you're a sports team looking for a great team bonding experience or just a pizza fan, The Rec is sure to score big with you.

Thank you, The Rec Pizza & Detroit Eats, for being the real MVP of our team's meal experience! We'll be back for...
