I'd been meaning to check this roadside Mexican food restaurant for over a year. It's easy to find directly off of Phelan Road, close to the traffic signal at Weekly. Family restaurant fits perfectly, booth seating, very casual. There's a t.v. mounted on a corner wall directly a over the booth we chose at first, but the blaring sound of a soccer game soon drove us to sit elsewhere. Nevertheless, my date found it necessary to ask that the volume be turned down. They obliged accordingly by turning it off...and the other customer sitting near thanked us. She called for the young waiter, to make him aware of her disappointment. He only apologiized. Of course, there was no obligation that he rectify the situation, but that he made no offer in any way i.e. another choice, or discounted price, or... was the deal breaker for a return for my date...and as such, for us. Read moreEl Patron is the place to go for mexican food. The cheese enchiladas rancheras were delicious with the rice and beans. The chips and salsa had great flavor. The salsa had quite a hot hit to them. The watermelon margaritas were huge and weren't watered down. The fried ice cream was huge and very delicious. The horchata left something to be desired, and I can't wait to back and try their agua frescas. Today was taco tuesday. I ordered two asada street tacos and my son got 2 chicken. I added salsa and guacamole to mine and they were delicious. My son thought they were a little dry but liked it better with the guacamole. Craving mexican in Phelan? El patron is your place. It's a small place, and seating is limited,...
