Spoiler alert: We walked out of the restaurant!
Visiting from Ohio, we stopped in to eat here. Let me walk you through our experience. First, we were greeted by a woman who had to write our order down on a piece of cardboard because she had no paper. Second, we were given chips and salsa. The restaurant was empty, which should have signaled to us that this wasn't a good place. We requested a cup of queso, and that came pretty quickly. We immediately could smell the stale chips but decided to try and eat them anyway. The queso tasted... Interesting compared to queso I've had at any other Mexican restaurant. The queso nor the salsa were enough to mask the stale taste. The stench and taste of those chips remained in my mouth until we went somewhere else. Third, we go to order our food and our waitress was asking us questions about the menu that she should have known. "What comes in that, chicken or beef?". Once our appetizer arrived, we asked if it were made with the same stale chips and the server told us "no", which turned out to be a lie. We sent it back and told our server that it was not edible. We should have walked out right then, but wanted to keep and open mind. All while this is happening, our margarita has not arrived. But shortly after, our entrees arrived. To my relief, the server came back to inform us that beans were supposed to be part of the entree, and that they would be brought to us. Whoops! By this point, I am upset looking at my plate. It looked like whoever prepared it had just thrown the salad on since it was all over the plate and covering my chimichanga. The meat inside was clearly canned meat because the juice from the can was running out it. Gross. Meanwhile, still no margarita!!!! The tortilla from my chimichanga wasn't even steamed to make it soft. The beans were sour at best and after asking the two people that were with me, we decided that we were not paying for food that we cannot eat. We politely walked up and informed them that we were not able to eat their food. The man at the register was nice. But he then tried to charge us for the margarita that we NEVER received. Needless to say, we did not pay for anything. I've never walked out of a restaurant before. That was an absolutely terrible experience. We drove down the street to KFC and ate there instead. Save your money. Save your time. Save your friends from having the same experience....
Read moreWe wanted to try something new so we went to margaritas, when we entered we were seated right away and the customer service was good… at first. The salsa & chips they gave us was ok, the salsa was very watery and was served in a styrofoam bowl the when we received our food it was all on paper plates … that you pick up at a grocery store. I’ve never seen anything like this before, when we tasted the food it was horrible. It was very bland tasted like nothing but oil and melted cheese. I thought the rice would at least have a spicy or salt flavor but nothing did; which was surprising for a Mexican restaurant. When we told the waiter/restaurant owner his attitude towards us changed drastically. He was upset that we wanted to only pay for the drinks & chips and leave. When we told him about the food we tried to be as polite as possible & respectful. He got offended and started arguing with us saying he cooked it him self, then said nothings wrong with it Then presumed to say “I’ll let it slide this time, but any other time you will pay for all that you ordered” even though we didn’t eat it and I respectfully asked for our check for what we did consume. What shocked me the most was when he brought back our check he was recording us with the flash on his phone! I would not recommend this place to anyone, as a young college student from Maryland with Hispanic family this place was a disappointment. Not only food wise but customer service and plane respect went out the window. If you want Hispanic food that’s even close to tasting real DO...
Read moreI was not terribly satisfied with my experience here. It was my first time at Margaritas after hearing decent things. On the positive side, our server was very nice, probably the best thing about the visit. My margarita on the rocks was warm (probably because it was served in a mug fresh out of the dishwasher, rather than a chilled glass), and the mix was overly sweet, nothing to write home about. I ordered a dinner special with a side of beans and received the wrong food twice. On the second time, I decided to just keep the food since I was hungry and closing time was approaching. Food was pretty bland and flavorless, which is unfortunate considering I am a huge fan of Mexican food and flavors. My girlfriend's food was better, but still nothing special. Lastly, when I was trying to pay and leave, my server left the check and never came back to the table. After 30 minutes of waiting, I tracked another server down and paid. I was rather disappointed with my experience, and likely will not be...
