2 star because I've been there before with a group of 8 and it went fine.
Last time I went I had the worst dining experience I've had for a decade. We had three people dining, all with separate tickets and I estimate 40% of everything, including drinks, came out right. My pizza came as something I didn't order and when I told our server I got, "I thought this is what you said." They didn't immediately start making what I had ordered. The server came back after talking with the manager and offered me a deal. I could buy the pizza I didn't order for full price and they would then make my pizza and give me 25% off that one.
I can hypothesize a couple of reasons for this, but I won't speculate here.
I've worked food service on a number of occasions and understand a new server and how after a busy time things can get mixed up, but between every conversation we had with the server and then the manager we had to wait ~10 minutes. We asked to speak to a manager, our orders weren't right and it took ages.
When she did finally come out she comped most of our meal and said I could keep the cold pizza that I didn't order. (No box came. I left it there at the end.)
Also my co diner had ordered a pizza. Before the manager came I went to check on if she was coming. No one was at the counter and I saw his pizza sitting under the heat lamp. When the manager came to out table 5 minutes later she told us it had just come out. My co diner was upset on having to wait so long, but just wanted his pizza. After the manager left it took 10 more minutes for that pizza to reach our table!
I left having paid for a salad, having gotten my Dr. Pepper comped from the tab, and a stomach full of anxiety from a stressful dining experience.
In the end the manager didn't facilitate making my experience right, the staff was flighty and rude (to which I was honestly rude back to) and our server should have still been in training.
Pizza Hut in Phillipsburg, KS, I'd rather not go...
Read moreNot even sure how to express the awesomeness this place shared with us.
Our group of about 30 needed a place to eat. Of course we didn't plan anything, have reservations or anything half way organized. So we called them up and asked if they could handle our group of 20. (Since we knew that a group of 30 might be tough and if we got in then we could squeeze together). They didn't even bat an eye.
10 minutes we show up (like around 5 of us) said we were party of 20. They put us in our own section of restaurant. Asked how we would like the tables (one long table or multiple tables) magic happens and there is a long table able to accomodate all 30 of us.
Pizza the waitress was as pretty as she was nice, asked what kind of pizzas we'd like. She told us about specials and we figured that the 2 large pizzas special they had that night was our best bet. We ordered about a dozen pizzas. Then got bogged down with the crust types and pizza types....and i finally simply asked her to just "mix it up" she did a phenominal job.
Food started coming out and it was delicious. They were fresh, hot, crispy crusts were crispy, pan crusts were substantial. They knocked it out of the park. For this group to have individuals make positive comments on food is normally uncommon. But not tonight. We even had the pouter that "they don't have anything for me, i am vegetarian" well they accepted that challenge and brought out a large pizza that even converted his scowl.
The best compliment i can give them is if i am ever traveling through Phillipsburg again i am going to plan...
Read moreWe do roadtrips across countries. This trip we are completely Kansas and Colorado and after visiting the Geographical Centre of the United State it was too late to travel back to the I-70w. So we looked for something open to eat. I called and spoke with someone who said I should be fine, and I could even preorder my pizza so that my family could have time to eat it in the restaurant prior to closing. When we got there our pizza was ready and the staff was really nice and kind. We felt very welcome and the pizza was delicious. Thank you Jacob...
