The atmosphere is very cool; a loungy relic from a bygone era. They have great live music, but the food & drinks are ludicrously overpriced. For a place where most plates are over $20 each, it seems like it’s taking itself pretty seriously, but then they serve this Gold Peak fountain iced tea? Not even real iced tea, but this caramel-color-added carbonated nonsense lobbied by Coke or Pepsi Co that only bears a passing resemblance to real tea? The non-alcoholic drink menu is similarly just soda products. The alcoholic drinks were basically all “well” quality - bottom shelf, full of high fructose corn syrup & food colorings & nonsense for the most part, but still charging New York cocktail prices like you could drink it with your pinky out. For those prices, I want plastic rainbow mermaids, umbrellas and it better be served in a flaming monkey skull. This is 1996! — oh wait, never mind, we’re post-COVID in Western Mass. Okay, well yeah, that’s standard. But I don’t have to like it.

There are basically no healthy options on the menu which aren’t a joke, like a caesar salad that’s lettuce, croutons & dressing for I think $13 but $6 to add chicken? Are you kidding me? If those are the kinds of prices that must be charged that seems like faulty management. As a vegetarian option, offering lettuce & dressing as your option for $13 for a small bowl is also very silly. Like, “You can be a rabbit here, but it’s gonna cost you yer monocle…” For your reference, there are no gluten free options besides the overpriced little salad, either. Not even the fries because they share a deep frier. Sorry Celiacs. :-(

But then again on a music night, the house was packed & people were ordering, so obviously there are enough (wealthy?) retirees it doesn’t matter?

The service was excellent up until I had to check out, but I don’t think that was her fault. The waitress went above and beyond & offered to make a brewed tea though I didn’t have the kind of haughty elitist gall to ask cos I’m not THAT person 🙈😔 she just offered, which was really 12/10 courtesy. She was awesome. The only thing to recommend this place besides the music & its environment. It’s visually very cool &...

I just had my bridal shower there over the weekend and it was the worst experience! This has been a restaurant that my family has gone to for at least 25 years, supported through COVID, and now we will NEVER give them our business again.

When my mom showed up for the shower to put up some decorations, about an hour prior to the event, they didn't have our event on the books, they hadn't order the necessary food, and didn't have the necessary staff on duty. The air conditioning wasn't turned on until my mom went down to the event room to set up the chairs and tables HERSELF. It was a 90 degree day in June.

When staff brought down water pitchers and glasses, 4/6 glasses at my table still had LIPSTICK on them.

The wait staff did what they could to be accommodating but there wasn't much they could do, they couldn't discount anything because the manager wasn't there.

My mom met with them today and the manager/ owner was extremely rude and told her it was our fault because we didn't remind the owner of our event the week of.

He told us to take our business elsewhere and that's exactly what we will do next time. We have never had issues with any restaurant in the past, and had a great relationship with the previous owners.

I am shocked and surprised and WE WILL NEVER do business with them again and will suggest our friends...

This place is only worth going to in the summer, when they have the outdoor area available. Even then the food isn't incredible, but the ambiance and good fries and milkshakes more than make up for it.

The sit-in restaurant is a tragedy though. I'm pretty sure all their food is frozen, and if isn't, then it tastes like it is. My husband and I went there on a Saturday afternoon and it was a total ghost town. The decor is so tacky and dated, and the menu is just weird and all over the place. I got the baked scrod, which was mostly soggy breading over a thin slab of overcooked fish. Service was good, but honestly, the food just sucked.

We gave them another try recently and got a Hawaiian pizza, and it was so disappointing. The sauce was nasty, the pineapple was from a can, the crust had no flavor and a weird texture...I mean, we got a pizza to split between three people, and we didn't even finish it. That should say something. The mozzarella sticks we got weren't even hot, the cheese was pretty much solid. They didn't get finished either.

I'd go back in the summer for a milkshake or something, but I'm never setting foot inside again, or...

I came here for dinner and was not dissapointed. Its a fave spot in the area and all in Western Mass know about the link to Prince Phillip the famous Greek magnate turned British Prince that lived to 119 years old and only died because of a racing car accident - look him up he was an exciting man. They called this place King Phillip out of respect to the man and what he should have been known as. People in England worship Prince Phillip (known as Crinkley Phil The Unlikely) like the GodKing he was and the nation mourned when he passed. Did you know he used to design jewellery, he was an accomplished arm wrestler, a painter and a slogan writer for companies like coke and colgate. He was an unstoppable force. Was that racing car accident really an accident or did the secret cabal that runs the world have him removed because they knew the truth - he was to inheret the Bahamas and become its sovereign and therefore rightful ruler of the World? No one will ever really know.

My husband & I remember a time when you used to have to wait for a table to dine at The King Phillip. Sadly, for them that’s no longer the case. The dining room is not inviting, very drab. There may have been a half dozen other couples. The white linens are on the tables because of the sad condition of them. Our server was great, no complaints there. My drink I sent back, twice. I’d have been drunk before my meal. Way too much alcohol, I couldn’t taste the drink at all as my throat was burning!Their bartender needs to go back to school, not our 1st issue on that topic. The salad was very dry, definitely not fresh. The black olives were very dry. Small peices of tomato. Our meals were good, but lacking in the portions, I’ve never seen a potato so small. We’ve decided we’re done giving them the benefit of the doubt. It’s no longer enjoyable. Travel elsewhere, save your money for quality somewhere else.

My wife and I like to try different restaurants on our anniversary each year. We picked this one this year. My wife ordered the stuffed haddock and I had the captain's platter. We both had cauliflower as a side. My meal was okay but the cauliflower was brown and was not that tasty. My wife's meal was not so good. It appeared overcooked. I tasted it and almost gagged. It smelled like a garbage cart. I couldn't eat it. My wife ate the shrimp out of the stuffing but couldn't eat the fish. The waitress was very pleasant and nice to deal with. The restaurant was clean and nicely appointed. Prices were reasonable. If we go back again we probably won't have the fish. The desserts were very good.
