The Vault Restaurant — Restaurant in Pilot Rock

With all of the hustle and bustle of technology and fast food I find it rather refreshing to be able write about a place that actually delivers the goods.

The Vault Restaurant is now open having replaced the Tavern of the same name. That was about the only similarity to the old location. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak, along with mashed Potatoes and vegetables having decided to give the new owners a try and see what they could do.

They brought me out a steak of considerable thickness and size along with the accoutrements in a very short time. I was absolutely delighted with the sear and the flavor of the steak and the potatoes were creamy and buttery and perfection. I did not spend long eating the fine meal as it was just too good to stop. I can without any hesitation recommend stopping here for a nicely priced and entirely scrumptious meal served by nice hardworking local people. The Vault Restaurant is a stellar asset to Pilot Rock and my go to place for something great to eat. Kudo's to the new Owners!!!

Good Day!

First time customer with my daughter. Came in and was told to seat anywhere. We sat. Waited 15 minutes before getting up and asking for at least a menu. Waited 10 more minutes while our sever was walking past us multiple times. Kept trying to get at least water to us. Nope. Waited 10 more minutes. Two other ladies came in and sat down. Our server , went right up to them and gave them menus and a drink order BEFORE us! I had to speak up to get any kind of service (as our server complained of being the ONLY one. Out came another server to help the ladies that came in AFTER us. As our server (Shannon?) complained about being busy, but yet was able to help other people as they came in. Worst service I have ever gotten. This comes from an experienced server for many years. Won’t be showing up again. Won’t be spreading the word. Very sad service.

Disappointed...

We stopped for a bite to eat in Pilot Rock at the Vault Tavern and were mildly surprised with our fare after reading a previous review. We had two bacon cheeseburgers (decent burgers), one with tots and one with fries. The tots were perfect and more than I could eat with my burger, while the fries were slightly soggy, which we were warned might be the case as they are "hand cut" and difficult to crisp. We also had a "Sub Club" with tots that was very good, and an order of chicken strips and tots. The chicken strips were four large strips, two of which went home for lunch later, and no one was able to finish their tots. The service was quick and accurate. We hope this new business (and completely remodeled interior) is able to make it go in this...
