New China III Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Pine Grove Township

I'm reviewing this because New China 3 is a standout.

First I think it's the cleanest Chinese place I've ever been in and I've been in a few. Not that they are typically overly dirty but this is just really clean.

Secondly - and probably more important - the food was excellent. My wife who is given to understatement said "This is very, very good it's exceptional!"

Considering the source that's pretty much a 4 star compliment.

She got Moo-Shoo Shrimp, I got Pork Mei Fun.

The portions are large and the price was fair.

The restaurant is small but it does have 4 tables where people can sit. Nice clean tables of course.

Finally, the owner/cook and his wife are very bright, happy and friendly people.

We came off the highway to get here and I can definitely say it was worth the detour.

If I am ever in this neighborhood again I will definitely come back.

We visit the Pine Grove area once a year for a long weekend. Last year when we were here, we discovered New China III. My wife and I grew up in the Philly metro area and are used to good Chinese food anywhere. We now live in GA and good Chinese is hard to find. We were excited to find New China III.

This year was our second year to the area and we were glad to see New China III was still open and the quality of the food has not changed.

All the staff we interacted with were friendly. The food is very good. Unfortunately, the fried rice isn't really fried rice, it is yellow rice (they do that in GA too). It's not a deal breaker, just unfortunately. We love fried rice.

This is one of our new favorites to get take out & head somewhere locally, in nature, for picnics. (Like the old forge at the Lebanon Reservoir or Swatara County or State Park trail heads.) Due to my food allergies, I always get the steamed veggies & tofu & add my own safe sauces. The ladies we've interacted with have been very helpful & friendly.
