My recent visit to Francesco’s Bistro was a journey of unexpected turns, starting with a divergence from what I had anticipated. However, not all surprises are unwelcome, especially when they involve exceptional service and culinary delights.
Firstly, the staff at Francesco's Bistro deserves every accolade for their outstanding service. Their attention to detail, promptness, and genuine care for guests' experiences were the highlights of our visit. It's rare to encounter a team so dedicated to excellence, and they undoubtedly set the bar high for customer service.
On the other hand, the ambiance of the bistro left something to be desired. The interior felt dated and lacked the vibrant atmosphere I was expecting from such an establishment. This aspect was a bit of a letdown and detracted from the overall dining experience. A refresh or update to the decor could do wonders in elevating the ambiance to match the quality of service and food.
Speaking of the menu, its vastness was overwhelming. While variety is often appreciated, the extensive choices made decision-making more stressful than enjoyable. A more curated selection could help streamline the dining experience, allowing guests to focus on the restaurant's culinary strengths without feeling bombarded by options.
The true redemption came in the form of the food, which was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was crafted with precision and care, resulting in flavors that danced on the palate and left a lasting impression. The quality and taste of the meals underscored the kitchen's commitment to culinary excellence and made up for any prior misgivings.
In conclusion, while Francesco’s Bistro might benefit from some updates to its atmosphere and a more focused menu, the core of a great dining experience—exemplary service and exceptional food—is firmly in place. These strengths are compelling reasons to return, and I remain hopeful that with some adjustments, Francesco’s can fully realize its potential as a top dining destination. I look forward...
Read moreEveryone was raving about how great and how pure Italian the cuisine is, so i went. Food was OK i guess. Id give em maybe 3 stars for the food. The 1 star review comes from the disgusting attitude I had observed that management seems to have with their employees (which was the only TRULY Italian inspired thing within those walls, might i add). A very kind waitress bringing drinks to our table was bumped into by another waitress who was moving excessively fast for the level of attention she was giving to her surroundings. Upon contact our waitress dropped the tray with our drinks in a cartoonish, cliché fashion.. No biggie right? WRONG..after maybe 10 minutes of no waitress (didnt think much of it as i had assumed she was cleaning herself up) I go outside to smoke a cigarette and hear sobbing. So, naturally curious I round the corner to investigate and find our waitress crying hysterically because management had fired her for dropping our drinks, despite being bumped into. And upon further inquiry, I find that the establishment will be pulling $30 from her check to replace the drink value. Now, between this event and another seemingly demeaning interaction between management and staff that I had witnessed upon reentry of the establishment, I ask you WHAT the PHUCK, Francescos....
Read moreTHE place to go for a nice dinner date or business lunch! I am horrible about taking pictures of a meal before eating, but not only did the Pasta Carbonnara and my husband's Manicotti look like it was ready to walk the Vogue runway, both dishes were also pleasing to the pallette! The bacon smoked Alfredo sauce along with the roasted almonds really elevated the fettuccine; giving it a robust, almost earthy taste but not overwhelming. It definitely had a good balance! The manicotti is a perfect example of the classic Italian cuisine. I absolutely loved the ambiance! Tasteful decor, lighting and seating! We sat in a booth and it gave us that warm, cozy, yet private setting! I absolutely Loved it! For dessert, my husband had the peanut butter pie and I had the coconut pie; both made in house, and I am STILL thinking about that pie! If you happen to go in there and you have Julia serving your table, just know that you will be well taken care of! She was exemptional!!!!!! All in all, this is a gem in St. Louis and I can't wait to...
