The Branding Iron – Pine Valley, UT A hidden gem with a true local charm! The Branding Iron delivers a great small-town vibe with big flavor. We had the prime rib with potato smashers and the filet mignon with sweet potatoes—both were perfectly cooked with a rich, smoky flavor that stole the show. The atmosphere is pure cowboy authenticity—rustic, cozy, and full of character. It’s a friendly, family-owned spot that feels like stepping into the Old West for a great meal. Just a heads-up: they're only open on summer weekends and closed the rest of the year, so be sure to plan ahead—reservations are a must. A must-visit if you’re in the area! Delicious food (at least the navajo taco and the homemade chicken fingers, which is what we ordered) in a cozy environment and great attention. What else can you ask for?

Food was excellent. A small menu but everything we were looking for, great steak, chicken, fish and Pie! Service was excellent and had live music. Worth the drive!

So disappointed in our experience tonight. We had been given raves about this place so we drove the hour to try it just to be disappointed. After waiting to be seated 20 minutes after our reservation, we waited for the waitress another 20 minutes to greet us. We made sure to order everything at once while she was there. We got our salad and beer pretty timely. Then again waited for our food. I had salmon that was dry. My man had the ribeye, it was cold when he was served. He finally got the attention of the waitress who took back to the kitchen. Two minutes later came back with the same steak that had been tossed on the grill and sent back out. It was still cold. He asked for another beer. She brought the beer but not a fresh glass. She never came back to check on us. We sat awhile when finished eating and the hostess passed by and asked how our meal was. We said "ok" she said just OK. We explained the situation. She said she never heard of this type of comment before. I asked for the check. The waitress brought not only our check but the check of another table also. As we waited for our check we noticed all three waitress working were clustered around a table of 9. They were served much faster than we seen any other customers served. It was sort of strange. Maybe the owner?

As we left, the hostess asked us to come back and they will try to do better. Three servers, maybe 6 tables of people and it took us over an hour and a half to have dinner.

As the other person said... save yourself the 89.00 and your time and go...

I recently had a "milestone" birthday and wanted to go someplace fun and different to celebrate. Since we were in St. George for the weekend I was struggling to find someplace off the map and unique. I remembered Pine Valley and found this place online. Based on the reviews we gave it a try. Man, did it ever live up to the reviews! The drive up to Pine Valley was gorgeous, and didn't take long at all, the atmosphere at the Brandin' Iron is perfect for the location, a small country Saloon and Steakhouse, it was so cozy!

Now let me tell you about the FOOD! Oh my god, the best steak I have ever tasted from a restaurant. Seriously, and the price wasn't bad at all because not only did I get a large, delicious steak, but beans, soup, bread, salad and dutch oven potatoes. MMMmmm, I felt like I was out on the range or something.

Don't pass this place up if you find yourself in St. George and get a hankerin' for a good steak dinner, you will not be...
