Such a neat out of way spot to dine by the Elk River. There’s 2 restaurants here, same chef/kitchen. Haven 55 is casually formal, reservations are needed. The tavern is next door and more like a bar-the tavern has a wood fired pizza oven and they offer burgers and bar fare. Aside from the cool location, it leaves a few things to be desired. We ate on the tavern side; while the bartender was certainly nice, there’s nobody waiting on tables. There’s no hostess, and no one bussing tables. For the limited seating they have, a 3 top took up at 8 top table and a 4 top did the same thing. Then there were three 5 tops squeezed into tables sized for 2-3 people. You have to go up to the bar for drinks and to order food. There isn’t a clear line to wait in, you just belly up and hope she’ll get around to you. There’s no salt and pepper, napkins or condiments-you will have to get up and go ask for everything you need. That goes for the check too. After the 3 top at the large table left, we moved over to their table and their dirty dinner plates and beer bottles sat there until we left. The burger I had was decent, didn’t quite meet the edges of the bun, but it tasted good. The produce on the burger was perfect, especially the tomato and pickles. Fries were a little dark, but tasty-they had sat a minute, so not really hot or crispy. My friends had the pizza, see Natasha Kane’s review for that :). I also feel the place could use a good spring clean, the windows were just filthy with spider webs and gnat nests and it was the same for the patio on the haven 55 side. We poked our heads in to haven and every table needed bussing. So maybe they just need more staff? I’ll give them another try in...

I was expecting 5 star review. I can't do that. A mixed review. Good and not. For an anniversary quiet night I give it a 3-4.

But a night just out for a country drive a 5.

It feels like you're in the middle of nowhere with a great waterfall view. And the food isn't bad. There's some decent food there. Some great. Just some of mine wasn't what I was expecting.

This wasn't the dress up 5 star place we expected but it's a good place to relax by the water, eat inside, go get a drink and do karaoke next door.

I liked the cozy bar myself.

The dining room is in another building next door. It's a simple place with about 60 chairs in a small area. Voices carry in that room. We couldn't hear the soft music over loud voices. I don't recommend this for an anniversary or such again . We will go back for a lunch sometime to sit a very long time by the waterfall. A very limited seat area outside. I should have got lots of pics.

My husband was not impressed with the small amount of chicken for )$26 but the portable sauce was really good.

My crab cakes were very little crab. I prefer horseradish with mine. They have a vinegar like sauce.

Side salad just lettuce tomato croutons.

I'd like this place more on a slow night. Saturday is too loud to eat there for us. This was a one hour drive there for us.

Will go back if we are out that way in a small hike maybe.

Such a small town is lucky to have this place though. They have steaks , prime rib that I hear are great.

But a flannel shirt and grilled shrimp, sautéed squash, great margarita next door. Go comfy I say. I felt overdressed . But any dress style is...

We live in a small circle with just 4 neighbors. We almost feel like we live in an exclusive neighborhood pretty much in the forest. We are also blessed to have, first time in my life, great neighbors! Deb and I, with two other couples that are neighbors, went to a great little restaurant tonight in Pineville, MO. It's called "Haven 55" just off business 71 highway. Wednesday night is "Prime Rib" night so we decided to take advantage of this special. The small restaurant has only 12 tables so reservations are required if you want to get in. One of the things we really like about this place is that it sits on the edge of Sugar Creek which has a beautiful falls you can see from your table. Also, all restrictions are lifted here, no mask or face covering required to get in, no social distancing, and no signage telling you to wash you hands and cough into your elbow! What a relief! Anyway, I digress... We split the Prime Rib special and it was great! Even brought enough meat home for another meal! We got ours medium which was pink in the center. Came with a huge twice baked potato and a side salad. We were celebrating "just because we wanted too". And could! Looking forward to going back some time during the holidays! Great service and great...
