Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Pineville

Ordered a simple pizza and had them deliver it. They were almost 50 minutes late getting it to my house, which is right down the street. My house is not hard to find and the numbers are blown up on the house. Refused to honor their 30 minutes late free policy or do any sort of accommodation at all. I was told I was being transferred to the manager 3 times to discuss accommodations, the last time after I waited on hold they just hung up. When I called back they said their manager actually wasn’t there (in the middle of the day). Therefore, I had been lied to about already being transferred to the manager or the manager did not want to do their job and played hookie. After several failed attempts to find a place open in the area, we finally settled on Pizza Hut, which according to their Google Business profile, is open for dine-in until 11:00 PM. We arrived at 9:00 PM and were immediately greeted — not with a hello, not with a welcome, but with a rude and abrupt, “Do you have a carryout order?” It felt more like we were an inconvenience than paying customers.

When we explained that we planned to dine in, the response floored both my wife and me: “You can do counter service.” If I’m going to sit down and eat in a restaurant with booths and tables, I don’t expect to walk to the counter every time I need something. That’s not what dine-in service is supposed to be — and certainly not what we’ve experienced at Pizza Hut in other parts of the country.

I placed an online order and mistakenly selected 7:45 PM instead of 6:45 PM for pickup. I attempted to call the store multiple times over the course of an hour to correct the order time, but was only able to reach a call center and never the store directly. As a result, we waited until 7:45 PM to pick up the order.

When we arrived, there were several customers waiting and only two staff members present, both of whom were on personal phone calls and did not acknowledge us or the other guests. This lack of attentiveness and professionalism was disappointing.

While the pizza and breadsticks were served hot, the quality of the pizza did not meet expectations, especially considering we spent over $50 on a large pizza and cheesy bread. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing, and I do not plan to return to...
