My family and I have eaten at the HISTORIC SILVER CAFÉ four times over the past few weeks during our visit in Pioche, Nevada. My review will be based on our lunch on Mother’s Day, May 13, 2018.

There were 10 of us for our Mother’s Day lunch. And, we were delighted to be seated in the more private dining area just up a short ramp from the main dining area.

We were greeted cordially and allowed to be seated immediately. The restaurant is housed in an old building downtown Pioche, Nevada, a ghost town with life! Historic Silver Cafe is in no way fancy. It is a small town café atmosphere.

Our waitress was efficient and attentive. I ordered the taco salad with chicken. Amongst some of the other orders from our family were chicken wings, Reuben sandwiches, patty melt, hamburgers. We all ordered water to drink.

Of the 10 of us, nine of us were VERY satisfied we with our meals. However, the patty melt appeared to be a bit dry although tasty.

Our food was served basket-style. My taco salad had guacamole, sour cream and salsa on the side. It was very good and I actually went in the next day and had it for dinner. I was particularly impressed that according to their menu their salads are made from lettuces that are grown locally.

Overall, HISTORIC SILVER CAFE offers a small but varied menu from which to choose Including breakfast items as well as lunch and dinner. Prices seem reasonable, quantity and presentation are nice.

I will eat at the HISTORIC...

We stayed at the hotel across the street and ate dinner and breakfast here. I have celiac disease so i was a bit nervous about dining somewhere where they didn’t have specific gluten free options, but the cook came out to our table and discussed everything that was possible and basically said I just needed to tell him what i wanted and he would make it work. He made me a lovely dinner and I didn’t get sick from possible cross contamination, wich tells me he did an amazing job of preventing that. My parents and boyfriend also loved the food!! Same went for breakfast, he made me a special breakfast sandwich with my own bread I brought and everybody else also had a nice filling breakfast.

The meat is amazing, everything tastes fresh and a lot is possible. All the workers are extremely nice and it has a lovely cozy and friendly vibe.

Would recommend...

Im gonna get honest here and have a real review, im not gonna lie I'd give my food a 5 or 6, the others in our party rated theyres lower but for a 16$ sandwich shouldnt that be closer tona 9 or a 10? And maby come with a free massage? Atleast put a reasonable amount of cheese on they're 16?? Ya 5 or a 6 on the food maby if more cheese would been a solid 6... the waitress was either overwhelmed or just not that good at they're job not sure it didnt apear that busy so im not sure what that was about, but for the price the food is average service slow kinda dingy or dirty rather then historic with a hint of an un-comfortable vibe... maby ok if i used my dirty ripped up money for the trade of soso food, service and enviroment... i wonder how the locals that apear not exactly financaly loaded can afford to eat here? Or...

⛏️✨ Small town. BIG flavor. We had an awesome lunch stop at the Historic Silver Café in Pioche, Nevada—a hidden gem in this charming old mining town! 🏔️🍴 🥪 We got down with the Double Decker Club stacked to perfection, and those loaded bacon fries? Total comfort food goals. 🥓🍟 Great food, friendly folks, and a cool slice of Nevada history—this spot is a must if you’re passing through! And don’t forget to tell ‘em #TheDigitalChef sent you! 🤙 #HistoricSilverCafe #TheAmericanStrEatz #TheDigitalChef #PiocheNevada #SmallTownEats #HiddenGemEats #ClubSandwichGoals #NevadaFoodie #FoodieRoadTrip

My friend and I were on our way to Cathedral Gorge State Park but we decided to drive a little further and stop in Pioche for lunch. We stopped at the Historic Silver Cafe and both got the Boom Town BBQ Bacon Burger. For my burger, I switched out the American cheese for the habanero ghost pepper cheese and boy did that have a kick. The burger itself was seasoned and cooked well and the fries that came along with it were good as well. From the looks of it, there were 2 people working in the restaurant. The very nice lady working the front of the restaurant was the cashier, server, and busser all in one and then you had the cook in the back working his magic. Keep in mind that the restaurant is small so seating is limited. When you visit, sit back and enjoy the ambiance of the mining town theme inside.
