Double D's — Restaurant in Pittsfield Township

In town visiting family and came to Double D's @6 on a Saturday evening, height of dinner rush. Seated very promptly (we did have reservation, however, several small groups came in right behind us, w/out reservations, and they were also seated promptly). I would say the dining room was 90% capacity when we arrived. I did not catch our server's name, which sucks because she deserves a shout out. She was very pleasant, and obviously has been in the serving for some time. She was prompt and very attentive, but obviously knew the fine line between being attentive and being annoying, she was prompt with drinks, taking our order, and any requests were quickly accommodated. Saturday night one of the specials is Prime Rib, which was highly recommended by our hosts. It did not disappoint!!! I ordered mine medium, and the kitchen staff obviously knew what a perfect medium should be. Absolutely the largest piece of Prime Rib I have ever been served, over 1 1/2" thick, and covered the entire oval plate!! HAD to have been over 32 oz. piece of meat!! The PR was served swimming in AuJu, which was awesome. Perfectly seasoned. Cod cut the meat with your fork, and practically melted in your mouth it was so tender.

Baked potato was large, well cooked, very good. Side salad was appropriate size, lettuce was VERY fresh and crisp. Homemade bread is included, came straight from the oven, nice and warm, almost hot actually. Delicious!

Highly recommend if in the area or even a reasonable drive, its worth it.

Also, don't let initial impressions shy you away. When we arrived, the parking lot was filled with motorcycles, all Harleys, and of course bikers to go with.....LOL. I was actually thinking "WTH??" LOL. The exterior decor is truly "country", well worn facade with plenty of beer posters etc.... Reminded me of a true "dive bar" from outside. We crossed paths with several bikers leaving, and they couldnt have been nicer! Very polite and respectful, my uncle who was our host is disabled, and these folks went out of thier way to go back and open/hold both doors for him before we could even blink. When you 1st get inside, you are walking into the bar area, but dining room is just off to the right. Bar area was packed, standing room only, but all the patrons were quiet and very nice. The inside is very friendly atmosphere, and is very clean and warm. Its obviously a popular local place. I dont remember seeing any kids in the dining room, but they are obviously welcome (kids menu selections on the menu) and i would not hesitate to take my owns youngin's...

One star is to many for the experience I just dealt with. Have ordered food to go here many times. 5 times in a row they have screwed my order up one way or another and I've let it go.im not much of one to complain but this was very upsetting to me tonight and I'm pissed off. My girlfriend goes to pick up our food and checks to make sure everything is there and of course it wasn't. So I've got deep fried foods sitting 20 minutes while they complete my pizza sub. Jamie being the nice person she is refuses to say anything. Totally unacceptable to me who wants to eat deep fried foods that have been sitting 20 minutes longer then rest of order. So I call there and speak to Dan and told him all my orders have been screwed up lately and explained what was going on and all foods need to be made again or I'm not taking order and he assured me it would be takin care of correctly and we will be treated right. So Jamie goes back in to talk to him and he was nothing but drunk and belligerent to her and said it was her fault and he's not redoing nothing. We have been (regulars) since their start as Double D"s, by that I mean Dan and Jules as the owners. They have the best of it all folks !. The food is second to none. We always bring our guests to Double D,s to show them that we have we have world class cuisine in our little town of Garland PA. Okay , maybe not world class because I,ve yet to explore the whole world. You may think that you have had the best Prime Rib, until you have had Double Ds prime rib, Garland Style, then you will know that you have found that this is the best ever anywhere! Monday nights They serve Italian and the chicken parmasan is very good, no need to go to Italy. Wednesday night is all you can eat Wing buffet. it has so much to offer than wings (which are the best) anywhere around the wing night special includes all sorts of good eats even dessert pizza! Okay so you do not even have go to the midwest for the best burger either!
