5 Stars – A Local Favorite That Never Disappoints
Hank’s Dairy Bar has been my go-to spot for years, and it never fails to deliver a great experience from start to finish. Whether you’re stopping in for a full meal or just craving a sweet treat on a summer day, Hank’s is the place to be.
During my most recent visit, I ordered the clam cakes, clam chowder, fish and chips, and a cheeseburger — and as always, everything was delicious. The clam cakes were crispy and flavorful, the chowder was hearty and rich, and the cheeseburger was cooked perfectly with that classic, no-frills taste that hits the spot every time. The fish and chips dinner came with a fresh roll, coleslaw, and tartar sauce. My only small complaint is the portion size of the tartar sauce — if you enjoy a generous amount of sauce with your fish like I do, you might find yourself wishing for a bit more. But overall, everything was cooked to perfection and served hot.
Hank’s is more than just great food — it’s the atmosphere. The parking lot is spacious with more than enough spots, which makes it incredibly convenient. Even on hot summer days when it gets busy, the line moves quickly and the staff handles everything with efficiency and friendliness. It’s a great place for families, friends, or just to hang out for a casual bite.
They also have a small arcade area for kids, which adds a nice touch and keeps the little ones entertained. Whether you’re catching up with friends, grabbing lunch on your own, or bringing the whole family, Hank’s offers a welcoming, laid-back environment that fits every need.
Even if you’re not in the mood for a full meal, Hank’s has a great selection of sweet treats like ice cream and milkshakes — perfect for cooling down on a warm day. The drive there is simple and smooth, especially if you’re coming from Jewett City. It’s an easy, worthwhile trip that always ends in satisfaction.
Would recommend 10/10. A classic summer stop with amazing food, great service, and an unbeatable...
Read moreAt the registers are a lot of younger kids but very respectful nice kids that do great in timing respect getting your order correct everything. Very good food, very good prices, little play area for the kids nice seating and shaded areas outside 50 style which I really like those kind of places anyway great portions whether it's the sunday's ice cream cones regular food all of the above in that area good parking nobody rushes you to leave they do have a little tip jar which it is I think a great thing especially for the young people that work up front gives them incentive you know and helps them to of course learn to respect their workplace and others at their workplace in the customers that they're serving when they get older. I do know they're having a car show coming up too like old cars of course to go with the place AA they always have a special every month that they run in the ice cream area I absolutely know and I also do believe that it's in the food area too. Read moreWarning: I am not a local. We came from out of town for a job, and stopped here for dinner. We didn't know what to expect, to be honest. Well, this is basically a shack on the side of the road, with a few benches if you want to eat there. But, the food lost nothing for being in such a small locale. Do note it is cash only. I had the clam strips, Cole slaw, and their cole slaw. First off, the prices are dammed cheap! All that cost me less than a tenner. And you get some quality food for that price. The clam strips were fresh fried, crispy in the outside, and so tender. Not chewy at all. Seasoned well, without an overwhelming amount of salt. The coleslaw was barely dressed, so the veggies were crisp and shown through the dressing. The ice cream sandwiches used a non-homemade cookie and their soft serve ice cream. But at 75 cents, you can't beat it. And the soft serve has a great texture and flavour. Staff were efficient and friendly, and well organized. Definitely a comeback...
