Soap Creek Social — Restaurant in Plum Branch

My husband and I had the pleasure of enjoying the Soap Creek Social restaurant this late afternoon!! We had the absolute best service from Javon. What an amazing experience. As soon as we walked in were warmly greeted by Javon. It just so happened that Javon was also our server, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. They proceeded to upsell the appetizers by giving a detailed description of their favorites. We decided to choose one of their favorites… the cheese curds! We have never had a garlic battered cheese curd before, but man…. Those were incredible. I can’t wait to come back and try Javon’s recommendation of the chicken thighs next time!

My husband ordered the Bacon Jam burger… everything tasted like it was made from scratch. So much flavor… crispy homemade onion straws, garlic aioli, homemade bacon jam and cheese.

I ordered the hot chicken sandwich with fries. The fries were crispy, with salt… which is all that was needed! The sandwich was obviously hand breaded in a great homemade breading recipe. Homemade remoulade that had a slight spice that was perfect, complementing the chicken, and pickles (which made me happy because I believe every chicken sandwich should have pickles! 🤣)

The only complaint we have is… maybe a better bun.. it felt very store bought, maybe something like brioche?

We ended our night with with the beignets.. light and crispy with powdered sugar and a drizzle of both raspberry and chocolate sauce. Delicious!!!

Why is this place not more popular? The ambiance, the cleanliness, the view of the marina, and the EXCELLENT food and service! Whomever the chef is… Kudos! You deserve some recognition… as well as Javon who was knowledgeable, passionate, and gave wonderful service.

We were there on father's day Sunday around 2 pm for lunch. Maggie and Kaylyn were fantastic servers and made our day fun! Absolutely took care of us well and we enjoyed them! Beautiful lake views, great outdoor bar and very nice patio with lots of umbrella tables outside. Now for the bad part: they were out of food other than burgers and had to close early and people were being turned away. The entertainment didn't happen either that was booked. He showed up at his time frame as we were leaving but already closed up. The servers did their best and were very sympathetic and apologetic so kudos to Maggie and Kaylyn! Great for boating over to a restaurant with music, but food is low to par. These guys are new and I hope figuring things out. I can say the Staff is working hard to serve and we love the ability to boat over and have a meal with drinks and music on the deck. Food…. Well they still need to work on this part. I can say the fried catfish is great, but portions are small for the cost. Fried shrimp, I have had better. They are small and out of a bag. Nothing fresh .
