Veltre's Pizza — Restaurant in Plum

I think it's one of the most ridiculous things to send out mailers that say "fast delivery" to particular cities, New Kensington to be specific, and then deny delivery. Why even include a city of your delivery range is virtually 2 minutes away? We are 11 minutes away and you really don't feel opening up to the city that you freaking advertise isn't worth the business, even for an extra surcharge?

You literally can't ask for an easier straight shot drive off coxcomb hill in thru new ken/burrell area. 11 minutes on Google maps, not even 6 miles.

Again it's not even that you don't deliver hardly anywhere but to actually tease people with a mailer that included delivery to the actual city you live in is idiotic.

Ordered delivery from Veltre’s Pizza and had a mixed experience. The pizza was just okay — the flavor was decent, but the crust was a bit too thick and doughy for our taste. It could’ve been rolled out thinner for a better texture and crisp.

We also got a steak sub, and unfortunately, it was underwhelming. The bread was bulky and soft, and the actual steak portion was pretty skimpy — more bread than meat, which was disappointing.

Now, the surprise hit of the meal was the Italian dog. It was loaded with flavor. In fact, I ended up stuffing the steak sub fixings into the Italian dog and oddly enough, it worked!

Still, the Italian dog alone might have me coming back to try a few more things...

I’ve been ordering their Italian Burger (basically a pizza burger) for 30 years now. It’s magnificent! Funny thing is, hardly anyone knows about it😊. There have been a few times when I called in my order and even the employee on the phone didn’t know they had it !! 😆

Their pizzas are also excellent. They use the best pepperoni available (Margarita Brand). Their sauce is more salty than sweet as pizza sauce should be. I loath sweet sauce. If I want sweets I’ll go to Oakmont Bakery. Crust is delicious! The bread they use for hoagies is Mancini’s😀.
