Coal Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Plumcreek Township

I have been to Coal Coffee a few times. The first couple times I purchased a coffee/food there, everything was excellent and the service was great! However, today (9/5/25) around 1pm when I visted, the two women working there were quite unpleasant, and practically ignored us as we ordered. They did not seem to know what they were supposed to be doing, and they incorrectly made our drinks. They forgot one of the ingredients that my mom asked for in her drink, and acted disgusted about fixing it when she politely pointed it out. They didn’t add milk or creamer to the seasonal latte that I ordered either, and it tasted bitter and awful. To add, we also asked if they had any more sizes available in the shirts they sell, and they simply shrugged and mumbled “I don’t know.” My mom bought the shirt from the shelf, and they forgot what size of bill she handed them, and they nearly gave the wrong change. I recently moved to the area and I enjoy trying local coffee shops, so I decided to try coalcoffee today ! The lady’s that were working were so friendly and kind. I told them I didn’t know exactly what I wanted or what to order but I told them what I typically like to enjoy and they made me a delicious coffee. I definitely would recommend this shop to anybody that was looking to try somewhere new. I will be going back. The customer service was amazing and they definitely started my day off great. What a delightful gem!! The building oozes personality and is decorated so welcoming! From the indoor seating nooks to the outdoor benches and tables with an expansive view! The local art work was an added touch of detail. The owner was welcoming, kind and patient. I chose an iced decaf with lavender cold foam! 💖. It was perfect.
