Thought I’d check this place out with my Grandson. Since I review every place I go I started photoing immediately. At first you enter and it looks cute. We order a small chocolate shake and a two scoop cone. The ice cream was soft and melting immediately this was suppose to be hard scoop icecream. He didn’t know how to make one and broke the cone and served it to me anyways. The icecream falls off immediately. I didn’t say a word figured I’d let it slide. Upon leaving I see a regular size mounds bar I haven’t had in a while and attempt to purchase it. The lady approx. 55-60 years old (my age) says $3.39. I said nicely excuse me a reg. size candy bar is over $3? She responds I imagine back in your day it was hardly anything. I said excuse me I’m not old as dirt. She says no I’m just saying and repeats the insult. Flustered I leave and forget my grandsons water bottle. Upon returning home when opening the candy I see it’s expired. I call them and explain I was the lady you just over charged, insulted and made the wrong order. Not to mention the chocolate shake tasted nothing like chocolate. My grandson would not drink it. So trying to have a nice new local experience I was served incorrectly, old expired candy and insulted for being a Grandma. A candy store should have fresh candy. I also suggest they check the freeze dried candy. It’s looking funky. Photos...
Read moreWe have driven by this cute little store a hundred times, saying we should check it out and we finally stopped in. Forest impression is the Ice Cream shop and candy. They have excellent ice cream locally made with some very unusual flavor combination. I got a small scoop of sandbox which was a combination of vanilla, caramel swirl, and butterfingers. The old fashioned candy is a blast from the past, I haven't seen Mary Janes in a long time! Take the steps to the left into the made fresh deli where the can make you a grinder, sandwich, or cook a lunch special as you wait. Chris is a true gentleman offering us a taste of his home made rice and pork shoulder he slow cooks right in store. It was phenomenal. We bought some Apple salsa and will definitely make this a regular. If you're in the area of Plymouth or Thomaston, drive over and check it out but make sure you're ready for some great food and Ice Cream!...
Read moreThe place is adorable. The candy and ice cream section is definitely a place to visit if you like old school candy and some great ice cream and chocolates. The food though isn't the greatest. I've ordered from there about 5 times. The first experience was lovely. Food was delicious. The second was takeout. I didn't sit on the deck. Order was wrong. They said they will replace the sandwich they did but got it wrong again and put gravy on instead of on the side. The next time was burnt chicken cutlet and I didn't say anything because who doesn't make mistakes .. then today I ordered a chicken cutlet wrap and the chicken was extremely fatty. I wish it was different. I like it there. I just don't think the food is of best quality...
