I’ve eaten at Plane Janes 2 Sundays in a row. The food was delicious but the staff made me feel unwelcome. After breakfast, we were asked to leave as there were people waiting to be seated. There were other tables available. The following Sunday, I was there for lunch. We arrived an hour before closing and someone was already vacuuming in preparation for closing. As we ate, tables on the patio were cleared of condiments and napkins to storage carts which were left by our table. Meanwhile, the person with the vacuum cleaner was getting closer and closer to our table. The cook came out of the kitchen to deal with the trash can from the patio. That was also stored near our table. We got the hint. We left 15 mins prior to closing. We were 5 feet from our table when someone came hurrying out of the kitchen to clear it. Mind you, we paid over $50 for each visit for two people plus tip. My husband’s family owned a restaurant in Plymouth. A 9:30 PM closing meant that was when the kitchen closed. Customers were welcome to stay until they were finished. The staff cleaned AFTER all customers left. It was much more enjoyable for...
Read moreCASH ONLY now. We go here often because we love watching the planes. The food is quite good, as are the views outside. There are two airplane toys outside for children to climb on.
My only complaint is the ordering process is quite antiquated. You must wait in line and only one party can go inside to order at a time. Now that it’s cash only, it takes even longer to order - customer giving cash, having to use the ATM next to the ordering table, getting change back, etc. I waited in line for 34 minutes with an infant to place an order, and there were approximately 6-7 parties ahead of me. Online ordering doesn’t work (I tried, I think they must have disabled it when they went cash only August 1st).
Many elderly customers also visit, and I imagine for some, waiting 30+ minutes standing in a line may not be possible. I would therefore recommend going on a weekday when it might be slower if you have difficulty standing for prolonged periods of time. Adding one more person to take orders could be helpful to speed up the process during peak days/times if there is no online ordering option or...
Read moreI’m always into checking out different places to eat. This place is located right at the local airport and tables give great views. Not your traditional place for many reasons:
Food was okay at best. The biscuits and gravy were waaay too salty, although the florentine eggs hollandaise were pretty good. Coffee was nothing special…..and nobody was coming around for refills.
Not cheap either. $34 for 2 breakfast specials, one coffee, one bottled water
With those prices and the cafeteria-type service, this place is definitely not recommended. Please spend your hard earned...
