Yolanda's Bar and Grille was a positive experience for my family and I. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was minimum wait time to be seated. To be fair, the restaurant wasn't that busy at the time we went. We were told to sit down wherever we pleased. It was our first visit there and restaurant was clean. It was a festive atmosphere with traditional Mexican ranchera music playing in the background. Our server came to the table to take our drink order and asked if we wanted chips and salsa. Of course we wanted chips and salsa. I've spent 14 years working in restaurants, as a chef, bartender, server, and manager. I rate Mexican restaurants on a few things. The chips and salsa is one of them. If the salsa doesn't taste good, I have high doubts that the rest of the food will taste good. The salsa had pretty good flavor however, it was a bit too salty for my taste. My family was pleased and surprised at the variety on the menu. I ended up having a dish that was recommended to me by a friend of mine. The tacos that I had were filled with carne asada, chorizo, and crushed pineapple. I think it tasted very good. Along with my tacos came the traditional refried beans and Mexican rice. This is another staple on which I rate a Mexican restaurant. If they can't get the basics right, then in my experience, the rest of the food isn't going to be good. The refried beans and rice at Yolanda's was outstanding. The rest of my family was absolutely pleased with their meals as well. The pricing was a bit on the expensive side for our budget. However, we tipped well because of the service and because of the food. My family and I will definitely be back at this restaurant. This restaurant has won over our hearts more than our previous favorite...
Read moreThis was by far the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at. Service was slow. Took over 40 minutes to get our food and when it came out it was still cold. Our server did a terrible job checking in on us. I orders chicken nuggets and French fries for my daughter and the chicken nuggets were cold and we didn't get fries. I told the waitress and she still didn't bring us the fries. My sister-in-law got the mole sauce on some chicken burritos and it tasted like a mixture of BBQ sauce and retried beans. I'll never go back. It wasn't even like there was a huge crowd there. Only 2 other tables had people at them. I feel bad for the people of Plymouth if this is the best choice for Mexican food for them as previous raters have said. It would be worth your drive to go to Warsaw...
Read moreI have been coming to Yolanda's for years, and have always had the most amazing food and service. Even when I moved away from Marshall County, I'd call and order carry-out whenever I was in town. ( Sometimes even making a special trip) I'll never forget calling to place an order, and before I could even finish my order the person on the other end of the line laughed and said they knew who I was and finished my order for me haha
My husband jokingly said that meant I was there too often, but to me it just proved how amazing they were ( the food and service as a whole ) that I frequented enough to become a regular and they recognized my voice and order. They are hands down my absolute favorite...
