I was looking forward to visiting this place after reading so many good reviews. We stopped on Sunday morning for sandwiches and salads to bring to a relative. The owner was there by himself and appeared to be busy. Many reviews mention what a nice guy he is. That may be but I didn't see it. After finally being acknowledged, he explained he was busy and took our order from my wife. He then told us to "have a seat". I decided to look around instead. I worked food service for many years. I understand not wanting to be rushed and being understaffed and overwhelmed with orders. I am a very patient person. But after roughly fifteen minutes of this process, with the same two sandwiches from a previous order still being assembled, no visible progress made on our order, and being told to "have a seat" for the second time, I decided to leave. My wife felt bad and said something to him. He replied that he had already sliced the meat for our sandwiches. He then told her that it wasn't a "QuickCheck". That's true. Its great BBQ for NJ. Better sandwiches than other local spots. They do run out of things and that can be a pain but I would rather they run out than serve old food that has been sitting around for a week. Pulled pork is solid.
