Well, this was my first visit to this restaurant and sadly it will be my last. My boyfriend and I arrived and they weren’t too busy so we sat down and ordered our drinks. The waitress asked if we would like to order an appetizer, so we put in for an order of mozzarella sticks. I ordered the steak filet and he then ordered a ribeye dinner. First, my side salad for my dinner came out prior to our appetizer. Next, we had to request or ask about our appetizer multiple times, knowing this was not the waitress’s fault, she finally brought it out but it was ice cold. To the point where I bit into the stick and the entire amount of cheese came out in a solid chunk. The marinara was hotter than the cheese sticks. Well, I kept giving them the benefit of doubt stating they were short handed or something of the sorts. 45 minutes passes, the waitress apologizes multiple times and stated they were in fact short in the kitchen. No worries, I’ve worked food service and understand that completely. What I do not understand is why my filet was room temperature upon arrival, not even warm, and my French fries were hotter than the steak itself. My boyfriend’s ribeye was the same; not even warm to the touch. They discounted our meal by 10% BUT you should NEVER serve any food, especially meat, cold. $56+ dollars later, we were very dissatisfied but ate our food because I didn’t want to cause a fuss since it wasn’t the waitress’s fault. I have never written a bad review, so this is a first. My boyfriend kept apologizing but I reassured him that it wasn’t his fault. As I stated earlier, I worked 8 years in food service and the one thing you do not do is serve food, especially a pricey meal such as steak, at room temperature. And even if your short handed in the kitchen, the food should arrive hot after such a long wait and not cold to the touch. I hate to say this because I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant but I will never return to this...
Read moreTypically we love the Port but yesterday was by far one of the worst experiences we've ever had. We got there around 2, it wasn't all that busy. We met some friends up there, we walked in on the back porch but we're told we needed to check in up front so we did. As soon as I walked in to check in, a young boy, our "server" immediately had an attitude. He rolled his eyes at me and said "I don't know what these people are doing" (speaking about my group), then we waited a good 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. We all asked for water, that never got brought and every-time Cameron (our server) came back to the table he was rolling his eyes. At one point he didn't even let us finish ordering before he tried to storm off. Then only half of our food came out, which he said the rest would be right out (that was a lie) after 20 more minutes we decided to just take the rest of the food that still wasn't out to go, when I went to go ask him to put our missing food in Togo boxes he turned around with the nastiest attitude and said "what!!" and then didn't even have the decency to bring us the Togo food or the check, he had someone else do it. And bigger shocker here the order was wrong, so while he was stomping around rolling his eyes he incorrectly put in our order. I will say what was correct was good food but with terrible service like that who cares about the food. And the worst part, I was told later he's the owners son. I really hope for the owners sake that isn't true. I understand people have bad days but stay home if you're gonna be miserable and treat customers badly. I really hope the next time we go back he isn't there and that they've got...
Read moreI not only wanted to leave a review but also thank The Port and their staff for making my Dads 80th Birthday dinner so special for him and my mom.
The staff were very gracious and sooo accommodating not to mention all of the staff were very social with us which was very welcoming.
The Bday party was 28 people large which is large for any restaurant to handle. We had 2 amazing servers who managed our 3 tables with ease or at least it appeared that way.
My boyfriend and I chose a separate table because of the volume of food he orders lol once we ordered I think the server understood we didnt want to crowd the other guests table space.
We ordered cold peel and eat shrimp warm peel and eat shrimp, a dozen steamed clams , conch fritters, side salads, and then our mains fried crab cakes, the flounder meal and the scallop meal.
The staff was so prepared they even pre peeled our shrimp for us which was very appreciated and less mess on our already full table.
We occupied the back deck which had great views and a wonderful cool breeze for a good 2 or 3 hours. Never once felt rushed. I didnt see anyone in the party have issues with their orders . There was no confusion at all even with all the separate checks.
It was a great first experience at the Port, I certainly didnt feel like it was my first time there.
As for my Dad, everyone went above and beyond to make his 80th memorable.
A special ty to the kitchen staff, hostess and servers yall did...
