Wow, what quality and authenticity! Coming from the Bay Area, there is no shortage of great Thai food... so when we saw Anchor Bay Thai Kitchen while driving up to Point Arena, I have to admit I thought this would be watered-down Thai food. But, so many reviewers posted such glowing testimonials that we had to try for ourselves one night — what a treat it was!
We made a pretty standard order of pad kee mao, Thai bbq chicken, and pumpkin curry with chicken. The pad kee mao was just totally addicting! Fresh wide rice noodles (Where do they source it from?? Is it homemade?) with salty, sweet, and spicy flavors... There was fresh basil and this kick of spice that really hit the spot. I ate way more than my fair share and wasn’t regretful!
The Thai bbq chicken was well-marinated and charred just right. There was a sweet chili sauce packed with it - I poured it over the chicken and against enjoyed the salty-sweet-very slightly spicy hit of flavor.
Finally, the pumpkin curry. Deeply creamy from the coconut milk and what great flavor! I was surprised and happy to see a variety of vegetables included (I think someone else noted this as well) and even fresh makrut lime leaves.
Pickup was straightforward inside and service was very friendly. I’d recommend Anchor Bay Thai Kitchen to anyone in the area, what a treat to have such delicious Thai food in a pretty...

You wouldn’t expect world-class Thai food out here, but they’re absolutely throwing down in that little kitchen. Every dish tasted fresh, vibrant, and full of real depth — like somebody’s grandma back in Thailand whispered secrets into the wok. The curry was rich and spicy without being overpowering, and the Pad Thai had that perfect balance of sweet, savory, and smoky. Staff was friendly in that low-key, genuine way you only find in small towns. Whether you’re a local or just rolling through Highway 1, this place is a mandatory stop. Five...
Read moreI live locally and I love having this as a choice of cuisine. I personally love the food here, but agree that the prices are still a bit high. Living in the coast, you get used to seeing high prices, but we still wish local restaurants would give local discounts at least once a week. When we went the last time, there was live music. It was fantastic. Not too loud and good songs. Food was good (orange chicken, chicken larb, pad Thai) and even better with house made hot sauce. The peanut sauce is house made and delicious. Owners Jay and Kwan are usually around to say hello to...
