Christie's Kitchen — Restaurant in Polkville

So, this weekend, we decided to hop on the Goldwing and explore some cool spots. We stumbled upon Christie’s Kitchen, tucked away just off the main strip in Polkville. Let me tell you, it's a real gem.

Christie herself greeted us warmly and served us with a smile. The food? Oh, it was top-notch. I went for the sweet chili chicken wings, and my wife dug into the country fried steak with gravy. Plus, there's a whole array of classic southern sides to choose from. My wife's only gripe was that her meal wasn't piping hot, but the flavor totally made up for it.

The place itself has that rustic charm, with its vintage vibes and southern farmhouse decor. And get this, they're all about keeping it local - from serving only Sundrop products to whipping up everything fresh from Christie’s own recipes.

I live right down the road and I've been coming here for years. I understand prices are going up but today finally broke me going there. I got just a simple hamburger steak meal. It was average and I'd like to come here because it's convenient, but it cost $20. I swear I used to get my whole meal here for about $12 but for a drink and whatever special they have it cost me $20 now 😥. I simply can't afford to come here it's cheaper for me to drive all the way to town and eat Olive garden then it is to come to my neighborhood restaurant. Went this past weekend with my family. I will say the food is very good, but the service was atrocious. Waited over an hour for food when we were the only dine in customers with 2 call in/pick up orders while we were there the entire time. I do not know if everyone that was walking in and out of the kitchen was an employee there but there were at least 10+ high school aged people walking in and out of the kitchen and going in and out the back door. The girl who was acting as the waitress only showed up to the table once the drinks were on the table to bring our food and put pitchers on the table so she didn't have to come back.
