This is a small town compared to what I am use to and I have been in Poplar Bluff a total of two weeks. My husband saw the restaurant while he was Is grabbing some items from fastenail for work. He told me that it looked like a really cool spot and we should check it out.
The location is great because it is near a major road. Is there are some brand new shops being built around it. When we arrived we were agreed promptly. We opted to sit outside since it was so nice. Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us quite frequently. When walking Through the restaurant we did notice that it was very clean and I thought the farmhouse décor was super cute!
The Restaurant is obviously famous for their lemonade's. I ordered an Arnold Palmer lemonade. This consists of the house lemonade and unsweet tea mix together. I normally do unsweet tea because I do not like my drinks extremely sweet. I definitely recommend the Arnold Palmer because It was refreshing.
The appetizer that we ordered was the fried green tomatoes. We debted them in the ranch dressing. I have to say it was probably my favorite part of the meal is art of the meal I really love fried green tomatoes. The batter seemed to be made with cornmill so they had the perfect crunch. You can tell that there was seasoning in the batter so they also had a really good flavor to them.
The meal that I chose was a hot dog that that had a mango pico de gaio on top Is with a teriyaki sauce drizzled lightly. In my opinion I was expecting a little bit more spice. I did not really like the teriyaki sauce. I would have preferred more of a mango hot sauce drizzle. In the pico de guyo they should have added some jalapenos. I did like the fact that the hot dog was all beef. The hot dog itself seemed to be made of good quality. My bun was super soft and I really enjoyed that. There was a Tabasco jalapeno hot sauce that I Was able to use to add more spice. After I added the jalapeno hot sauce it was so good.
I ordered a side of macaroni and cheese. The Mac was okay. I feel like it could be Creamer and needed more cheesy flavor. I think colton's steak house has the best Mac and cheese in Poplar Bluff. I was able to try the chips that came with my husband's burger and they were really good. I would recommend the house chips over the Mac and cheese.
5 stars because we would definitely eat here agin and I would get the same hotdogs with chips. If you have found my review helpful please give me a thumbs up! You can also follow me for more reviews.

Read moreFirst time trying it. Lemonade was really good. Burgers I can tell "could" be or have the potential to be really good but.. I think I just got the wrong one or somebody in the kitchen was just inexperienced on knowing what is and what is not OK to send out to a table. That burger that I got was the blue. Bread was cold, bacon seemed like it was old, not fresh and crispy, onion ring on it was soggy and tiny. It looked like they pulled an onion ring out of the dish pit and plopped it on top and there was way too much blue cheese. I'm pretty sure they have inexperienced kids working the kitchen from what I received. Other than that after I took off some of the blue cheese and pulled off the soggy onion ring it was ok. I bet the more simple with less steps cheeseburgers are better. I'd try it again. I'm trying to just be informative not harsh towards the management. Didn't have time to go complain about it but if they see this review hopefully they can remind their kitchen staff what's ok and what's not ok to send out to a table. Considering I was all alone I figured it wouldn't be hard for them ti inspect for quality. I used to be a chef so it's hard for me not to judge. What I used to tell my cooks is "if you wouldn't eat that? Would you send that out to a table? Would you serve that to your mother?" It doesn't take long to quick inspect for simple quality. The main idea in this business is to get people to return again and again while telling their friends and family about their good experience. That's what this business is all about. Only trying to be informative to help this place improve by telling it how it was for me this time. Like i said though I will try it again hoping it's a better experience. ------One last tip I can't help but suggest. A really good burger is done when it's cooked.. not squeezed...
Read moreAll in all, not super impressed. Had I tried the place during an earlier lunch hour then perhaps everything would have turned out better but my takeout was practically on par with Steak and Shake without the shake. Altogether I spent approximately $42 in a decent takeout meal for. I hard ordered in a good time though I don't know if the waitress that was taking my order was on something or just super tired because it took her the better part of 5 minutes to just take my order. No joke, I said I wanted a burger then had to wait a solid 30 seconds to write that down to hear me already said I wanted fries with that.
I arrived and still had to wait a good bit. I asked for some ketchup and mustard and I followed the lady towards the back bar counter. I must have waited another 5 minutes (seriously) for a gal to come back out with a to-go bag. Lady asked me if that bag was for me and said if it was the condiments then yes.....
I get back to the hotel 2 miles away and realize they forgot my drinks (my fault too for forgetting to ask). When I sat down to eat with my friend the meal was... less than satisfactory. Fries were stale and pretty hard. Burger tasted like it was soaked in grease because the bread was virtually soaked by the time I got half way through. The boneless Buffalo wings tasted store bought and drenched in Frank's red hot sauce. My friend's chicken was also cold and hard in texture.
If I were to go back I too would likely stick to a burger but it certainly wouldn't be my first pick versus the plethora of other options available in poplar bluff. For $10 more I could have had a warm not nearly so greasy meal at Applebee's that doesn't...
